Footwear with longer skirt

I bought this Topshop tube skirt at the weekend, as I really like the look with a slouchy jumper. But I did not consider what to wear on my feet.
I usually wear these with shorter skirts or skinnies, but I'm not sure that they look right with the Topshop skirt.
The skirt comes to mid-calf. I'd prefer flat, but don't want to look like a frump. If I wear heels, they need to be low/comfy as I'm running after toddlers all day. But I have no idea what style to wear with them. Any ideas before I return it to the shop? I have a history of buying lovely clothes and then they fester in my wardrobe as I've no idea what to put on my feet....

I wear tube skirts with boots that are similar to the ones in your link and I think I look fine Smile However that Top Shop skirt does look quite long and I wonder whether that might be the problem, rather than the shoes? I think that, unless you're really tall, mid-calf can be tricky, with it being the wide part of the leg etc. I normally go for something that ends just below the knee. Have you tried just hoiking the skirt up a bit? It's one of the advantages of tubes!

I have a midi dress the same length and I wear with mid- calf biker boots, ankle boots with a medium height heel and am going to try it with some flat slouchy ankle boots - altho I fear I will be channelling my 14 year old self circa 1985 with those!

Hoiking it up - why did this not even occur to me?? Brilliant idea, thanks, will give it a go later. I am not tall - 5'4'' - so yes, that may be the problem!

I would wear converse with a skirt like that.

Hmm, that would involve going bare-legged though, and my legs are so white they are practically blue look better in tights.
