I hate Cath Kidston, hate spots but I bought a Cath Kidston spotted bag!

I cannot stand all her twee floral and spotted wares, but today I bought this

www.cathkidston.com/spot-charcoal-velvet-folded-messenger-bag/spots--and--dots/cath-kidston/fcp-product/1009427

It says charcoal on the website but mine is navy. I took my son and his girlfriend out for the day and we went in a Cath Kidston shop and I saw this bag and liked it!

Very surprised as none of her things are my style what so ever, but son's girlfriend liked it too and we used her student card to get a 10% discount code as well!

Anyone else bought something from a shop or designer they would normally avoid?

This is why I never write a shop off - you will always find something you like in a shop you have previously discounted.

Yes, Jack Wills!
I have a lovely navy wool jacket which is such a flattering shape and fit and very well made.
I previously ridiculed JW as being all about kids in bright logo emblazoned hoodies. It appears to have changed since Aubin and Will closed. I suspect they've merged the two if that makes sense. I didn't see a single logo last time I popped in, it was all woollen jumpers, dresses, blouses and so on. Although there is a further floor upstairs I didn't venture to so maybe hoodies ate hidden up there Grin

Are not ate!

I said I'd never wear Uggs but discovered how warm they are Blush

I can't think of anywhere but I like that bag and never would have thought about they did polka dot styles.

Interesting about Jack Wills. I used to like Aubin and Wills but I've been put off going into JW because of the logo and impossibly pretty and stuck-up staff.

The bag is nice because I can wear it with the Cath kidston label against my body and the bag can be folder over at the top.

Being in the shop was a strange experience as it was busy and every customer had one or more items from the shop already! I was also surprised to see a lot of young people as I thought it was an older woman's brand.

Yes dexter73, it is wise not write any shop completely off.

I hate all the twee floral crap in Cath Kidston but have a spotty bag from there! Different shape and colour bit wipeable (oilcloth) so will survive the weather and my children much better than my leather bags.
