I nearly have a full house of beauty favourites but which daily moisturiser do you recommend?

My beauty essentials are pretty much exclusively recommended by fellow mners but it's the daily moisturiser I still haven't found and fallen in love with. I am in my early 40s, have open pores esp in T zone and prefer a creamier cream than an oily cream. I tend to avoid Decleor for example as I find their products either to oily or the smell is too strong and for some reason reacts with my eyes.

TIA

I recommend avene light hydrating cream. It's got a reasonable spf too.
I have a similar skin type although I'm needing a heavier night cream now that winter is coming.

Try Elemis pro-collagen marine cream. It's a light texture and sinks in beautifully. It's part-cream/part-gel in texture if that helps and smells divine. I've switched a few times just to see if there's anything better but I always come back to it :) I'm a few years older than you and it's great for plumping Grin

Thank you both. I was going to ask about night cream too. I have some Liz Earle concentrate that I haven't started using yet, I'm a bit worried as it's oil based and wondering if I should try something else.

I've just started using a eucerin night cream - it's from the hyaluron range. Seems quite good so far. I tried a sample of the estee Lauder advanced night repair serum and my skin really didn't like it.

Elemis PCMC works as an eye cream and night cream too if you just want one or invest in Alpha H Liquid Gold to use on alternate nights.

I try lots of stuff and always come back to Olay Essentials Complete Care Day cream. Every time. I should know better than to stray really!

Suspect I'll move into the richer creams in a few years, but it's brilliant at the moment.

VerySmallSqueak · 18/10/2013 19:05

In my 40's.
Nivea soft.
Honestly.

VerySmallSqueak · 18/10/2013 19:07

I can't do the heavier Olay creams as they affect my eyes.

Fuckitthatlldo · 18/10/2013 19:11

Estee Lauder Daywear Plus is really good. Lovely texture, great smell, leaves skin neither oily looking, nor completely matte, but with a nice glow. Smells great too. Has an Spf of 15.

If you're looking for something non-comedogenic then Avene make very good quality and affordable face creams for every skin type.

Soap and glory. Nice and light. SPF 25 too. I use rose hip oil at night and it works well

ihatethecold · 18/10/2013 19:40

I use oil on my face, have used this works which is great but I only get it from tkmaxx as it's so exp.
Currently using sanctuary facial oil and I'm pleased with it.
Always use Clinique eye cream to keep the wrinkles at bay.

Pandsbear · 18/10/2013 20:15

Early 40s - Elemis pro-collagen Marine Cream here too. Sometimes divert via a dermalogica one but have now been using the Elemis one for over 2 yrs now and keep coming back.

QueenofLouisiana · 18/10/2013 20:18

I am 37, sensitive akin. I used to use dramatically different by Clinique. I am now using Lidl moisturiser (really!), it is very good for my skin!

Another one for Nivea Soft
