The Asos knitted dress

As in this one...

What's the sizing like? I'm a 10 in top and 12 in trousers. Just bought a 10 but the waist seemed tiny so am returning ans have ordered a 12 but wondering if that will still be pretty clingy at the waist.

I found asos sizing to be pretty true to the size chart they give, I go on waist measurement.

JohnSnowsTie...
Do you mind if I ask your waist size? Thanks

JohnSnowsTie · 18/10/2013 15:02

Well... that's awkward at the moment as I'm 34 weeks pg and was planning to save it for after... (yes I know...)

Apart from that I'm not sure re the actual measurement, just general 10 on top and 12 bottom (because of curvy hips rather than waist - waist is slim between precnancies!)

Last check it was 27.5.

Ha ha! You can't go on waist size then. Can you compare it to your other clothes? I'm like you a 10 on top and in dresses, but things that are really fitted on hips/bum I can be 12 and the waist doesn't fit - which is why I am generally to be found in a whistles stretchy tube skirt!

JohnSnowsTie · 18/10/2013 15:15

Hmm... will have to wait and see until the 12 arrives then. There's always eBay if it's too late to return once DC3 arrives!

Do you have the short Whistles tube skirt Pseudonymity, or the longer one? I'm thinking of getting the shorter one but would be dressing it down for the time being. Is the quality good?

Yes, I have the short one, the quality is good. I like the look of the long one but I reckon it would ride up with it going down over knees. The short one rides up a bit too - not a flaw but that is just the way with stretchy skirts.

ElizabethBathory · 18/10/2013 16:57

The Asos dress is true to size - it's ribbed round the waist so even if your waist is smaller than the rest of you it will fit and won't be loose. I'm an 8 everywhere except my waist and the 8 is perfect.

Kahu · 18/10/2013 19:00

I thought it was a bit on the small size. I'm usually a 6 but ordered an 8 & it fits perfectly. Mind you I could just be used to US vanity sizing...

AftonCooper · 18/10/2013 19:24

I agree the waists do look tiny on those dresses when you take them out of the packaging - I have the grey and purple - but they're fine on, and the bottom half is roomy.

LittleMissWise · 18/10/2013 19:42

I think it is true to size. I have the navy from last year and the grey from this, both in a 10 they fit fine.

Has anybody got any pictures of people wearing this in real life? Have bloggers ever posted about it?
