Calling all petite, pear shapes - what trousers do you wear for work?

I desperately need a new pair of trousers for work. I have lost a bit of weight and my trusty black pair from next are practically falling down and flapping around my legs!
I am 5'3" with curves. What style suits this shape best and any recommendations of where to buy? Limited budget and also what shoes to go with them?
Many thanks.

I'm also 5'3 and pear-hourglass (depending on how many cakes I've eaten). To be honest I've just about given up on trousers. Tapered or slim legs make my thighs look huge (when they're not actually that bad) while most wide legged styles drown me. So this winter I'm planning to wear skirts or dresses with chunky tights and ankle boots. Sorry if that's not very helpful and I'm sure there are some trousers out there somewhere that would look right but personally, I've decided that life is too short (and so am I Grin)

Agree with flo56 I'm 5.2 pear shaped curvy trousers always been a nightmare the best I've had to pay for. BaukJen (sp) do a cigarette pant Higgins short on their tall models they are 70 quid I think but they last and flatter and jigsaw do a nice ankle length for tall people black trouser which I bought at beginning if this Pregnancy nit wore them yet but saw them on my friend and they were very flattering they were 90 quid. They are a sort if soft satin mix. The problem Is you have to pay a lot fir something fir out shape when it comes to trousers but they will last and I always think next petite looks awful and boring. I usually do what flo56 says though dresses and boots but it depends on your job I'm a teacher can get away with that.

I usually buy fat face trousers in the shorter length.
I'm 5'2" and go in and out.
Their trousers aren't tight on the thighs , you may need to size down though!

Try Banana Republic - the Sloan fit ankle pant and the Martin fit suit trousers both come in a petite fit. I have both in black and navy, they wear well, good quality, and look contemporary but smart, and most important, they fit. And cheaper than the Baukjen ones anyway (and they often have 25-30% off)

Sizing at BR is a nightmare though - completely inconsistent - its US sizes and I have things that are 3 different sizes on the labels (but measure the same ... hmmm). So you need to go in and try on, or purchase multiple sizes from the website.
