poisson how do you get your eyeliner to stay on? i've got lancome's waterproof eyeliner but i may as well just rub it under my eyes cos that's where it ends up a couple of hours after applying it. and that seems to go for any eyeliner i try...

poisson · 02/07/2006 20:26

really?
hmm wonder if oyu put it on too soon after moisturiser?

chonky · 02/07/2006 20:37

ooh make up..

deffo no to matching clothes to make-up or vice versa. Just wrong.

Haven't seen Karen Walker stuff before, will take a look. Have tried No 7 eye cream - v.g - but not 17s.

My latest finds are Dior Flash Sticks - for those of us who need that bit (or a lot) more coverage than provided by Touche Eclat.

I am also loving Gemma Kidd's shadow stick in 'Ocean'. Fab teal blue sort of colour. Well, like the ocean really!

poisson · 02/07/2006 20:38

link to kisdd stuff please

I like the sound of the pistachio eyeliner

have heard of the new Jemma Kidd makeup chonky. where did you get it? would it be in a big Boots - I fancy wandering in a makeup daze and getting some new stuff with my no cash

chonky · 02/07/2006 20:43

gemma kidd make up

She's wearing the ocean colour in main pic

hoxtonchick · 02/07/2006 20:44

i got nice chanel sparkly red nailvarnish duty free. must try harder!

chonky · 02/07/2006 20:46

Hi MrsJC, yep - big Boots (has even reached the heady heights of Swindon town, so am sure you can find it!).

crunchie · 02/07/2006 20:47

Sometimes I do do the matching makeup and clothes, eg if I am wearing teal I may wear teal eyeshadow, green with green etc. BUT they are clolours I wear anyway.

chonky · 02/07/2006 20:48

am liking le pistache

fob · 02/07/2006 20:52

This stuff in the ocean colour is fantasitic .. right here
and I think the new jemma Kidd lipgloss in moonstone is wicked.

FlameBoo · 02/07/2006 20:52

I really need to get better with this whole makeup thing - I like wearing makeup, but I am dull and stick with what I know... I get all flustered when I change because I can never tell if I look frightening because I look frightening, or just because I don't look like me iykwim???

Likin the sound of waterproof eyeliner... mine normally seems to melt.

Off to look at "ocean" too... sounds pretty

MrsJohnCusack · 02/07/2006 20:52

ooh I like that chonky

fob · 02/07/2006 20:54

Hey peanut - have you tried liquid eyeliner?
I've been wearing it for yonks and the lancome one is fab - never smudges!

peanutbutter · 02/07/2006 22:08

fob in the past i've used liquid eyeliner on my eyelids - requires holding my breath for what seems like a long time and a very steady hand. it's the lower lid thing that gets me. i dust my eyes with transluscent powder to absorb any leftover moisturiser, but even lancome's waterproof (the brown version of poisson's link) just slides off. do you use liquid eyeliner on your lower lids?
i'm off to bed now to mull the whole thing over

fob · 02/07/2006 22:11

Nah PB. I use liquid on the upper, but it can be used on the bottom if you have a steady hand.
I tend to put eyeshadow over the kohl on my bottom lid (whatever colour I'm wearing) with a thin brush, and it doesn't smudge. have you tried that?

chonky · 02/07/2006 22:16

MrsJC - ocean would suit you I think. Only a tenner so doesn't give you much guilt over make-up spend. DH raise eyebrows when he finds my Boots receipts!

poisson · 03/07/2006 13:08

LIQUID ont he upper
ooh that IS good

OP posts:
puff · 03/07/2006 13:11

I've got the pistachio one and it's lovely - I usually use a darker colour at the outer edges of my eyes with it.

poisson · 03/07/2006 13:13

the pistacio lancome one?
ooh we are twins

OP posts:
puff · 03/07/2006 14:57

lol

I love anything pistachio coloured

peanutbutter · 03/07/2006 18:05

hmm. fob - wot sort of thin brush do you use to apply the eyeshadow onto your lower eyes? could you possibly do a link to something similar? i think where I go wrong with the whole eyeshadow thing is my brushes are those silly crappo things you get along with your eyeshadow

southeastastra · 03/07/2006 18:22

i've got a maceyeliner that is that sort of pistachio colour, it's great but a bit scary all round my eyes. i find it really hard to find eyeshadows to suit my colouring but i love it
