I agree with you but I have more green dresses in general than red dresses, ad it's a dark red, not a bright red (because bright red looks cheap very easily)

I have bought quite a few cheap clothes from Hong Kong sellers before on eBay- the quality isn't that much different from Primark. Personally, I would just try there or New Look for something similar. The best thing about the dress IMO is the belt (hover over the black version, it just doesn't look that great without it), which I don't even think is included.

But if you do want it, I think the green one looks the best, and would stick with the suggested gold accessories x

On the "people who looked at this also looked at" I get this which appears to be the same thing only cheaper (also from Hong Kong).

I am aware that it doesn't come with a belt, and I would definitely want to wear it with a belt.

I'd get the red rather than the green. But, unless its silk, it's not a dress I would buy. The devil's in the detail, and I find that the details like fabric type, sheen, finish etc become noticeable and important when you see them in real life. But why not try it and see?

It's not silk. It'll be artificial stuff. But the second ones that I linked are £14 each, so worth a try!

Weird. In the summary bit it says under P+P 'Not available to United Kingdom' but then if you click on postage details, it says 'Worldwide' (with a million exceptions including 'MN' but not UK) so maybe it's just cos it varies. I see the details now in the main listing. Apols for confusing things. I'm on my mobile btw.

The £5.99 postage didn't put me off much because it's still under £20 total (I generally try to ignore what part is postage on ebay things) but 14 is a lot better than 20 :)

My opinion is the opposite.
The dress look cheap in green and horrible with the belt.
Looks good in red and black whitout the belt.
But you need to be tall, have a slim figure and use your hair tied back.
Just like the models.

Just looked at the new link and the other photos down below. Honestly, I don't think the fabric looks great. Especially in the face & torso shot of the model, it's got a weird sort of sheen. Not the sheen you get with silk, more the sheen some of my mum's 1970s shocking blouses had.

I really, really hope it's my laptop/eyes playing up, as £14 is damn good for a nice dress.

Sorry to be a downer but a lot of that cheap stuff from Asia is finished really badly and will look cheap & nasty. My friend sells some from her online store and has to be really careful about what items look really cheap! Especially in chiffon.

The fabric will look cheap and I doubt the stitching will be great. Its a nice design though and I agree it doesn't look like a tacky red.

It all really depends on how expensive you want it to look ? It will look like a high street dress from primark/new look nothing more .

Be careful ordering from overseas too. I had nightmare returning something once and ended up badly out of pocket.

It's a lovely dress but it's 160cm long and I'm only 152cm tall :o

I wouldn't as I suspect it will stick to your legs and you'll be a walking static nightmare.

See I was happy that it was 160cm long because one of my main worry with this kind of dress is whether it won't be long enough.

I've ordered it in the red. If it's rubbish I won't bother trying to send it back as I suspect t'll cost more than £14 to return!

I tend to see ebay as gambling - I don't expect it to be easy or sensible to return things, so I just hope that I end up with a decent amount of "good stuff" for the money that I spend. Today I might send £14 on a dress that looks cheap, but tomorrow I might spend £10 on something that I consider worth £40, so in total I've spent £24 and got £40 worth of "good stuff".

You can always eBay it back, charity shop it, if you don't like it

Last winter I bought a cotton jumper dress from Hong Kong, it is unusual, warm and still looks great after so many washes. I always get lots of compliments when wearing it.
I ordered another one this year. Unfortunately they don't do much in that style. It seems it is one per year only.

I'm not sure what the HMRC rules are exactly regarding buying stuff from overseas but I got stung once and it's made me more wary now. I'd bought things via Ebay from all over the world with no problems, but with one package (from the US) I was charged £20 tax by HMRC and £8 "handling fee" from the post office! It seems to be rather hit and miss regarding whether you get charged or not I'd love to know, in simple terms, what the charges are up front.

Regarding the dress, if you can afford to lose the money if you don't like it, then it's worth the risk I reckon.
