Dr Martens Gayle boots?

DH wants to buy me a new pair of boots for Christmas to replace a pair I've just worn out.

I'd like a pair of biker-style ankle boots, which aren't very close fitting at the ankle so I can tuck my jeans into them easily. Do you think the Doc Martens' Gayle are any good? If not, and I like the look of these, what else might I like? TIA.

I like the Gayles but I don't find the fit quite right on me, sadly.

I got mine from Clinkards. I don't know if they fit what you are looking for exactly but I am loving mine :)

I've not had a pair of docs for 20 years, can't remember how they fit generally - I have fairly average calves (Clarks boots are usually spot-on) but would like a boot with just a bit of room for slightly bulkier socks in heavier denim skinnies.

I tried the Gayle on, I have big feet, I found them just a bit too bulky round the ankle and really a bit unflattering. The same shop had fly boots which I preferred the look of, loads here.

I like the look of Nani and Mango on the Fly website, thanks for the steer. Are they online only?

I ordered some last week from Amazon. Just waiting for them to be delivered. I'm a size 9 and have such trouble getting boots to fit, so I'm hoping they are ok.....

I have got these, got them last winter and wore them loads. They still look in great nick this year and will be making lots of appearances I would guess. V comfy too. Love them

They've arrived! They fit! They're lovely, really comfy and look great too.

They are a touch baggies around the ankle than front of my foot, but nothing terrible, just an observation.

Haven't got mine yet, but they look quite low to the ankle on the pics - am kind of assuming they'll be about the same height as a Chelsea boot, possibly a bit higher?

After I posted the message I found them online at schuh The fourth picture shows a pair of legs in skinny jeans wearing them.
You're right - they look slightly higher than a Chelsea boot. Which is perfect :) as they're to replace a pair of similar (but cheaper) Blowfish boots I bought last winter. They didn't last more than 3 months!

I've done click and reserve so am going to collect them later today. Dd has me up nice and early thanks to the fecking clocks.

Aaargh. They don't come in half sizes, 6 too small, 7 too big. Rats.
