Lovely boots for a woman with calves!

After one dreadful mission which resulted in my returning a pair of boots today (tried and tried but had to admit I had no circulation with them on!) I had to share what I've come home with:

www.caprice.de/de/kollektion/?shoetype=Stiefel&page=3

4th pair along from the left: cognac antic. The buckles have lots of options and the boots themselves have goretex water resistance! Am gushing but I hate buying shoes (the boots I'm replacing are three yrs old and competely disgutingly knackered) and I have now found 'my' brand.

Better yet, in an independent shop i just happened to wander into :-)

I like duoboots.com. All the boots come in different calf fittings.

liquidstate · 15/10/2013 18:20

Its a shame more places don't do boots for wider calves as it gives us less options. I bought some fab ones from Clarkes which I adore and was so excited about but am now admitting defeat as they fit on one leg but not on the other. weird!

OP were your boots expensive? I am now looking at getting the Flore from Duo but they cost £195...

pippop1 · 15/10/2013 18:46

I have the fit on one leg and not the other Liquidstate. I think it might be because I drive an automatic car and only use the right leg to drive it so that the left leg is fatter! So one leg is tight and the other is impossible!

Ankle boots it is then....

Choccyjules · 15/10/2013 19:14

They were £135 which is more than I've spent before but leather and goretex so I reckon that's fine :-)

Oh and they come in half sizes :-) am usually a 7 but the left one was too snug (shop owner said that's normal for right-handers) so I got 7.5 as can wear thicker sox when they start to give.

There are some really nice ones on that link and i share your ample calves!

Where did you get them? Are there stockists in the UK or are you in Germany?

MissWimpyDimple · 16/10/2013 07:29

Oh I like those! But whispers they are 69.95 on amazon Shock

Choccyjules · 16/10/2013 12:15

whispers I did spot a few cheaper pairs but most seem to be a slightly different style, buckles-wise. Tbh I am so glad to have them I don't mind for once!

I got them from Modish in Cambridge, in answer to treehouselover

(Haven't even told you guys i got two pairs there! The second pair was a whim-buy, i don't need these but i have some birthday money to spend-pair...from Fly - I've gone from dumpy to trendy overnight)

Duoboots have increased their prices hugely, so I'm hoping that my old ones hold out. I've been wearing their boots for the last 7 years. My last pair 2 years ago were £120. They are now £160! I will continue with them though because they fit so well.

Choccyjules · 16/10/2013 14:52

Going out in my Fly boots for first time:-) Mocca Mes is the style.

Choccyjules, how 'ample' are your calves? I love those Fly boots but don't hold much hope for my most ample of ample calves.

Sarah is my new Hero!!

holycow not what I would call amplyample (this is the first year i've had to worry) and the fly boots 'just' close comfortably so I advise trying them somewhere. They have Fly in Office as well, i think.
