You know this colour thing? Don't want to sound arrogant but...

...don't you sort of know what colours suit or not? I know just by looking in the mirror, for example, that I can't wear olives, oranges or mustards without looking like I'm going to throw up! I know I can't wear black because it makes my face look redder, whereas navy and certain shades of purple (not reddish ones) tone that down and makes my complexion look more even...
I'm just intrigued...

Thank you hopefully.

Is there a correlation between colours we like and colours that suit us?

For example, I don't like the colours mustard, olive, salmon pink, turquoise or terracotta on clothing other people wear even if the colour suits them. I know those colours don't suit me and I don't like them for clothes or home decor!

Often, but equally there are one or two colours in my palette that I would never wear. And I don't like 'my' colours for interiors, they're too heavy. I decorate in Spring colours! But I've never had anyone truly and utterly disappointed in their season (or if I have they've hidden it well) - there are enough colours to keep even the fussiest person happy.

Thank you hopefully, I certainly am more interested than I was before.

I wear black, grey, navy, blues in cool shades nothing with a hint of green, pink especially fuchsia. Dark grey and light grey all look good on me. I can wear burgundy. Bright yellow looks good but I only have a yellow scarf and a yellow jumper as it's not a popular colour.

Purples and lilacs I avoid as they don't suit me, nor do terracottas.

Strangely though I am getting away from silver jewellery and preferring gold against my skin.
