Apart from casual-type trainers, Vans...and sometimes, his school shoes Hmm

So I'm not the only one with a son who would live in Astros - phew! Some great suggestions, thank you. Particularly like the Chelsea and desert boots. Am off to check out Vans too. One DS has converse just now but they're not very warm for winter.

As for growing feet? DS1 is forever telling me he needs new Astros. Start of term saw shoes, football boots and trainers purchased. Mow he tells me that his astros are too small - they probably are but I wish they didn't have to be the latest Nikes. Sigh. And the girls need winter boots at around £50 a pair in Clarks - it would pay me to rejoin Tamba!!

Vans or Nike blazers ATM. He only wears "trainers" (must be Nike) for sport.

Sympathise with the growing feet/astros/boots/trainers issue - DS started last season in size 7's. We had to upgrade to size 8's after a couple of months. He started this season in size 9 1/2. Luckily DD's feet stopped growing a couple of years ago!

For summer he wore Van's, Haviania's and these for more formal occasions www.fredperry.com/footwear/mens/men-s-hayes-suede-plimsoll-b3195.html

While for winter we've just bought a pair of these www.fredperry.com/footwear/mens/fletcher-leather-boot-b3175.html

It's an awful age as they are growing so fast, last winter he went through 2 pairs of rugby boots as he out grew the first pair. I tried to tell him he was being silly but when he came back from a match with a black toenail I had to believe him! (Bad mother)
