What would you wear with an emerald green cashmere crew neck jumper?

Because it's not going to go with my indigo jeans, is it? I feel like it needs something more interesting on the bottom half than jeans. Would I look very weird wearing it with navy/green tartan wool shorts and black tights?

Why won't it go with your jeans? How about using a scarf with navy it to complete the outfit? The tartan shorts would also look great with it.

Love emerald green! Wear with funky skirt patterned a line and boots or slim skirt and neck tie for retro look...look on e bay for emerald ring ; big one , that wd look fab and pull the colours together? Enjoy!!

I'll try it with my indigo jeans but I had an almost-emerald green jumper before and it looked wrong with the jeans - but the jeans were lighter and the jumper more muted. I saw someone in an emerald jumper and navy peg leg trousers the other day and that looked great. sugar yes I feel like it needs to go with a patterned bottom half, not sure why!

Emerald and navy is a classic combination but it does sometimes need something else - an accent colour, a statement necklace, a scarf etc to add interest.

I'd wear it with a royal blue pencil skirt.

Is royal blue the same as cobalt do you think? I need more pencil skirts.
