A quest! Petite ponte/lump-skimming shift-type black dress, with sleeves.

I have a lovely warehouse dress, knee-length, a high scoop neck, 3/4 lengh sleeves, and ruched over the tummy. Its lovely, perfect with knee-high boots for work, but its very thin jersey and is not quite as forgiving as I would like... Has anyone seen anything similar out there? Surely there's a House of Ponte or somewhere that sells this type of basic fayre? I need it in size 8 petite..

Its arrived, but I am not sure about it. It sort of sticks out at the sides making me seem wider than I am, and the ruching in the centre over the tummy is not even, so it looks a bit messy. Maybe a poke with the iron into them would help. I am going to exchange i for the black, which may be more forgiving.

M&S petite online have ponte dresses I think.

agree ponte is the way to go - I have an amazing DVF ponte black shift dress that I have loved for years (though constantly needs repairs as worn to death) need a new one or two really, very very flattering fabric

I have a dress like this from French Connection, v short, full length sleeves, fitted but v flattering as thick ponte-ish fabric. Got it from a charity shop though but FC maybe worth a look? I also had one from Tesco of all places. I love short tight jersey dresses with long sleeves as long as the fabric is thick enough!

frankie I ordered the Audrey dress, and I had to send it back. I didn't find it at all flattering across my middle. Its a lovely dress, but just didn't suit me at all (I am a petite size 10, or a 12 on a bad day). Maybe I could get away with it if I wore my miracle spanx ...
