What to wear to first job interview in 10 years?

I have a job interview in London in a couple of weeks. The role is for a home based technical financial/software support position for a US company. I am a 49 year old SAHM, 5' 10, size 12-14, with short spikey silver hair and have no idea what to wear. I have one black trouser suit, otherwise some smartish-casual dresses which I would wear with boots or ballet pumps. I am finding it hard to decide what to wear because the role is not office based but obviously I want to look smart for the interview, and also am not sure if US company would expect a less casual look than a UK one. Any suggestions for the type of outfit I might wear?

For an interview I would always err on the side of smart. Can't see anything wrong with a black trouser suit, possibly with a bright top underneath to show some personality.

I was in your position 6 months ago - first interview in 9 years & none of my smart pre-dc work clothes fitted me (despite holding onto them for all that time...I'd never had the need to even try them on!). I am the same size & height as you, by the way!

My interview was at a well-known boarding school. I wore a black/grey patterned knee-length shift dress with a black cashmere cardie over the top, black tights & black pointy flats. I had a bright pink silk scarf too which I think I wore! but might have taken it off with my coat.

I know a school is different to the corporate world, but I didn't want to look too severe.
