Pregnancy skin, skin already oilier. Any tips?

So I'm very newly pregnant (not quite 5 weeks). The first thing I noticed last week before I got the BFP was that my pores were getting more noticeable on my cheeks and my nose was shinier.

I'm normally combination skin, though only slightly oily on my t-zone and slightly dry on my cheeks. So it looks like my skin is getting a bit oilier.

Should I carry on with my same skincare routine for now? Or do I need to start buying oily skin products? Is it likely to get oilier and oilier as my pregnancy progresses or is this subtle shift likely to stay the same throughout? Will it settle down back to normal after the first trimester or will it be like this throughout?

I never took as much care of my skin in my previous pregnancies, so never noticed the difference before, but this change was the first thing that made me think 'I might be pregnant'!

Hey!
I've struggled with oily skin all my adult life, but recently I've kind of hit on something that helps a bit. Cleansing oil from the Body Shop! Camomile cleansing oil, checked all the ingredients and they're safe during preg. Use a very very hot wet flannel, wrung out, to remove it, and then some kind of gentle hydrating mist - I use Melvita rosewater spray stuff. Then depending on whether my skin is zitty or just a bit dry in places, I use a face oil instead of a moisturiser. Works quite nicely :) if going out, take some blotting paper (or, pro-tip: use tissues separated into their individual layers - no extra expense! yay!)

Hope this helps, everton Smile

Oh, I use the camomile cleansing butter which is lovely - might switch to the oil and see how I get on! Thanks :)

Liking the tissue tip - I'm new to the world of shiny noses so this is a good idea!

My skin is fairly normal, but I was like an oil slick during my last pregnancy.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser worked brilliantly. I love it and am still using it now, even though DS2 is 9mo and my skin is back to normal!
