Can you help me to find a pastel-coloured, non-strapless wedding dress, please?

Hello all.

My friend is getting married in three months and is looking for a (not too expensive) dress to wear. She doesn't want to wear white / ivory, and suits light colours such as pink, pale blue, and pale sea green. She also suits v-neck styles and would like something full length.

Does anyone have any good suggestions, please? It should be fun and easy, but I think it might turn into a bit of a slog...

TIA.

Love the ghost smoky purple one! Same colour as my new sofas Grin

Is she a 12? This is lovely...

rubyhorse · 08/10/2013 22:45

That's just gorgeous! Think she's probably a 10, but will forward...

Hi! That was me with the blush wedding dress thread, since nc.

Right, so I really really REALLY recommend that your friend looks at J Crew's bridesmaid options. (I eventually went with the Annabel Grecian gown and it was very very pretty but strapless.) Great customer service and fast shipping.

Loads more here.

(Arabelle not Annabel - the full-length version. The silk chiffon is quite lovely.)

Thank you. I've forwarded the link. They are very beautiful. Are you married now, Faddy? If so, hope it was a good day. You must have looked gorgeous...

Yep, all married ruby. It was really nice, a low-key affair. Just put up a pic on my profile if you want to let your friend have a quick look (it won't stay up long!). Not sure if you can really see much but you can get an idea of the dress Smile.

hope it works...

Are you anywhere near Gloucester op?

Just that last week I bought a blush pink dress from the ghost shop in the designer outlet for 40 quid reduced from 220. I am not even going to a wedding! Just bought it because it's so lovely. Might be worth buying one for that price and dyeing it to see.

I love the bhldn website and would get dress & shoes from there if I ever got married again (not that I plan to!)

I love this.

rubyhorse · 10/10/2013 10:17

No, not near Gloucester, no, but there are outlets dotted about so could be a thought.

The bhldn site is gorgeous! So many beautiful dresses. And shoes.

Faddy thank you for the photos. You look radiant. It's lovely to see the reality of a bride in a pretty colour.

Thanks ruby. On the colour thing: if your friend wants to feel bridal even though she's not wearing white, hair accessories can really help with this. She's probably got something in mind anyway, I think most people go for some kind of hair accessories these days!

The two Etsy shops I dealt with were:Migonne Handmade, where I got my halo hairpiece thing, and Whichgoose, who does gorgeous flower crowns. I ordered a flower crown first and though I loved it it didn't go as well with the dress.

Agree that the bhldn site is to die for! Like emsyj if I was ever getting married again I'd be so tempted to get something from there.
