I just love shopping in House of Fraser stores as they have my favourite labels in there.I hardly ever buy full price though as I wait for things to come down in price.I love Therapy,Coast,Olsen,Hooch, little bit of Elle. And I always like Whistles but don't have ANY of their stuff as they are sooo expensive.I also like Monsoon.I'm looking for a lovely long shirt type of dress thing that are fashinable at the mo,anyone seen any nice ones and how much?I've just discovered this style section and I love to talk shopping.

nope, i'm not a label person at all. couldn't care less as long as it fits well and i like it.

LadyTophamHatt · 29/06/2006 15:04

OMG...NO!!!

I love a bargain and clothes with "labels" are not enough of a bargain for me, even if they are in the sale!!

I went shopping for shoes yesterday, found loads I like but didn't buy them because they weren't in the sale or cheap enough!!

I love being a cheapskate!

Tommy · 29/06/2006 15:07

not a label person at all
Today I am wearing trousers from QS and a top from Matalan - I like to get a lot for my money

Tinker · 29/06/2006 15:10

Actively avoid labels. I mean, why???

southeastastra · 29/06/2006 15:49

i love monsoon and would be happy if i could afford to shop there! have to make do with lovely topshop!

Feistybird · 29/06/2006 15:54

Not in to labels at all - but I do like certain shops.

crunchie · 29/06/2006 15:58

I am not really into labels, BUT I love Monsoon at the mo (don't really consider it a label). ATM I am wearing some bargains, Black City Shorts £5 Dorothy Perkins sale, Vest £6 Gap sale (fab long line vest) Sandals £12 Office sale last year

I don't tend to do dept stores, I usually start in Monsoon or New Look, the odd basic from M&S (jsut bought 4 vests for £12) Gap is one I visit sometimes too. I also do Tesco and George at ASDA. Depends what I am buying tbh.

southeastastra · 29/06/2006 16:09

i go into monsoon to touch all the precious things!

MrsJohnCusack · 29/06/2006 16:10

Ethel Austin

Tinker · 29/06/2006 16:10

No, don't consider Monsoon to be a label either.

layla · 29/06/2006 16:11

Oh my,I sound like a complete clothes snob now.I can talk cheap with the best of you though some of my favourite tops are £5 jobbies from Tesco's sale. But the quality of labels are just a cut above the ordinary mostly.I would love to take you anti labels people shopping and convert you.You really don't need to spend a fortune.I love my Therapy skirt I bought for £14 reduced from £38 and my over £100 pound Coast skirt which I only paid £25 for. Most of my tops are £10 jobbies, nice labels but just bought at TK Maxx.I find good quality clothes more flattering on my figure.I like to hide my big belly as we all have one in our family although we have skinny legs.If I really like something I will wait until they reduce it,they always do.And I love my warehouse skirt I got for £15 reduced from £45.

My fave label is Clearance 75% off

layla · 29/06/2006 16:13

I have never heard of Ethel Austin,is it the name of a shop?

Love Monsoon too,am waiting for their sale to start.Aren't their girls clothes gorgeous too?

layla · 29/06/2006 16:16

I do find top shop quite expensive for the quality of it.That's whenever I see something from there advertised as actually I haven't been in there for years I feel a bit old.

Whizz

Layla you don't sound like a clothes snob, I love clothes and I buy loads of them. However since I do buy lots I do buy from cheaper shops.

I have finnaly got everything I need for the summer now, I just bought my last vests I have the white jeans, the long denim shorts, the city shorts, the shirt dress (white brodraise anglas and black sexy one), the fab 'I'm a celeb' kaftans and HUGE sunglassses, a great bikini and swimsuit and fab 'little black dress'. So I am sorted I am lucky as I don't need a separate 'work' uniform I can wear jeans, shorts, anything really

Oblomov · 29/06/2006 16:18

Where / how do you get it, though layla ?
Through sales, discount shops, e-bay - how do you find your label stuff, so cheaply ?

Tortington · 29/06/2006 16:24

no. i am not. and i think its snobbery djin dobery

layla · 29/06/2006 16:29

Hi Oblomov, well I just keep looking really. In the House of Frazer stores they always have a few sale rails going on all the time so I regularly check them out.I have been buying quite a bit of stuff lately as I'm updating my wardrobe as I'm getting older I felt I was a bit scruffy so have got rid of a lot of old clothes.I ask in shops when their sales start and have a Fraser card so get 10% extra off if I use it sometimes.I also know some fab smaller shops which do the same labels I like and regularly change their stock and have good sales prices. And I'm always in TK Maxx.It really is fab if you have one.Just keeping a regular eye out really.

Hi Crunchie, wow what good bargains you've got.I do like Gap stuff,I must pop into their sale and have a look I haven't been in their for ages.I'm looking for some wide leg jeans ,just plain with no fancy trendy pockets half way down but no luck so far anywhere.Even M&S which I got some in a few years ago.Had to get rid of them as I lost quite a bit of weight and they didn't fit me any longer.

zippitippitoes · 29/06/2006 16:34

asda has a lovely three quarter sleeve cardi in super soft acrylic (ds thought was cashmere) for a bargainous 6.00 brilliant value!

2mum · 29/06/2006 16:42

I used to like diesel jeans and tshirts but sadly am too overweight now. Although if i ever eventually lose it, ive got all my skinny clothes in the attic.

divamummy · 01/07/2006 19:26

well i said nothing

bubblerock · 01/07/2006 20:01

I don't buy labels either, I do like to go into Monsoon but I just think the clothes are really colourful and pretty, I can't afford them though and I probably wouldn't have an occasion to wear them anyway! I hadn't heard of Ethel Austin until we moved up north and it's great, V cheap!

We went to Freeport this week and the Next outlet was soooo cheap, I bought (all for me ) 2 pairs of jeans (£8 & £5) a top for £5, a pair of shoes for £5 a hoodie for £5 and a cardi for £3, saved over £100!

Medulla · 01/07/2006 20:04

I love labels and my fav shop has to be TK Maxx where I can get v cheap labels. Love 'em all!! Favs are Joseph, Elle, Coast, love Monsoon & Gap, want a pair of VB jeans and Jimmy Choos but neither is going to happen! Will settle for my birkenstocks and Fat Face shorts!!

divamummy · 02/07/2006 00:12

just realised lots of people said doesnt consider Monsoon as label. what is it? overly priced high street brand?
