Parka jacket suitable for pregnancy and beyond - seen any?!

I've decided this will probably be the most practical coat for me this winter.

Looking for a parka jacket or something similar which is:

  • water resistant or waterproof
  • not too long as I'm only 5'3
  • perhaps has drawstrings around waist to adjust for pregnant and non-pregnant waist
  • khaki colour or perhaps navy

I've seen an ok one in Topshop and one on Zara online (although Zara stuff tends to be better for taller people usually) but it would be great to have more choice :)

Asos have plenty, including some maternity options.

Bump bump! I'm due on December 13 & had the same shopping mission! I went with one from Asos in the end...

But it's not technically water resistant but like any thick coat it doesn't get you wet unless you're in a proper torrential downpour so that kinda suits me...fat face heritage have one that is definitely waterproof & is a simple style but lovely.

That ASOS one looks really good. Water resistant should be fine - just wanted something that wouldn't be really absorbent cotton as some jackets seem to be.

How does it size up, if you don't mind me asking? I'm usually an 8 or 10 in ASOS but find the sizing can be a bit hit and miss Thanks

I'm normally an 8 & got an 8 & because of the drawstrings inside you can adjust as bump grows. It's got a nice fleece lining in & after much looking around it's the nicest one I found. I don't think you will have any probs with it seeing you through all your pregnancy :-)

there's a nice khaki one in Tesco for £40 - could size up to accommodate bump, I am torn between that one, an Oasis one for about £80, and a Barbour one for £250. The Tesco one isn't hugely thick but for the money could well win for me!

This one from H&M?

They do it in black too.

Thanks for those suggestions. I might order up the ASOS one as they have a tendency to get sold out fast in the size that I want.

But will also take a look at Tesco and Oasis as I do remember seeing some good ones in Oasis.

Like the H&M one but not sure if it's warm enough for winter - I'm liking the idea of a furry lining and hood :)
