My mum and dad want to buy me something nice for my 30th birthday, budget of £150. I'm thinking something I can keep but I really can't think of anything. I have lots of jewellery so not that. Any ideas?

Lovely leather handbag, really good quality purse, beautiful leather jewellery box (since you have lots of jewellery to keep in it), nice watch from Citizen or similar, posh pen, (sun)glasses that really suit you...?

buttercrumble · 07/10/2013 13:54

Posh purse or sunglasses Smile

Katienana · 07/10/2013 14:19

Posh purse might be a good one. I wear prescription sunglasses and wear my contact lenses so rarely I wouldn't get use out of normal sunglasses.
I did wonder about a scarf, I know those McQueen skull scarves were popular but I think they might be a bit 2010 now...

Beautiful wooden lacquered jewelery box

ProfondoRosso · 07/10/2013 16:12

This lovely Zara coat: Zara coat

Or this, if I could add 20 bucks: Massive Diptyque Feu de Bois candle

sweetheart · 07/10/2013 16:15

A leather jacket?

MrsLettuce · 07/10/2013 16:17

Oh, a 170 quid candle - right Hmm

I was going to say I'd spend it on an hour and a half with my dear tattooist but thought people would be shocked at the 'waste of cash', am now able to say so with no qualms!

MrsLettuce · 07/10/2013 16:17

yy to a fab jewelery box. Excellent suggestion.

ProfondoRosso · 07/10/2013 16:36

But it's not just a candle, MrsLettuce - it's a piece of sensory art! Grin And if you've smelled Feu de Bois, you'll know that I mean. It gets you sent. And it's bloody massive - would last for years.

An extremely sensible purchase, IMHO.

Katienana · 07/10/2013 16:41

My mum did suggest a Dyson vacuum cleaner at one point but I was like nooooo....I will keep thinking! I'm all set for coats Profundo. And I don't like lighting candles any more since I had DS!

This cashmere dress from Comptoir des Cotonniers is beautiful: Comptoir dress

vitaminC · 07/10/2013 17:15

Maybe a new leather handbag or purse.

But if it were me, right now, I'd probably get an expensive pen and pencil in a smart leather case!

bunnymother · 07/10/2013 17:22

Alex Monroe necklace or cashmere scarf and leather gloves. For £150 that's for a gift, I would want something that lasts a long time and that I loved using. Dyson vac would be rejected by me, too!!

MrsLettuce · 07/10/2013 17:24

I'll take you at your word ProfondoRosso, hell, if it brings you joy I'm all for it!

Would rather have a wee bit of Parfum though.

teenagetantrums · 07/10/2013 17:33

I would buy a bread maker but im old and sad now. When i was 30 i would probably have spent it on clothes or shoes, how times change.

comewinewithmoi · 07/10/2013 17:33

A dress from Biba

plentyofsoap · 07/10/2013 17:34

A classic black dress.

Marylou2 · 07/10/2013 17:42

What about a Clarisonic if you don't already have one? They are fantasticSmile

NoComet · 07/10/2013 17:46

A brown leather handbag as I have a nice black one, but brown boots.
