not the diamonds darling - just fashion stuff?
I am thinking of rationalising, not so I only wear expensive bits but the sales bargains I thought would go with something etc

I dont want to end up as yawnsome " oh i only wear my watch and diamond studs" type of person but i have so much CRAP

Lots. Used to live in Vietnam where real jewellery was quite cheap. Have lots of quite nice bits. Never wear any of it. Have some nice diamond studs but stopped wearing earrings when DS was a baby and now the holes are closed up.

Have lots of costume jewellry too. I wear some of that.

LonelyGoatherd · 07/10/2013 08:54

nope, am complete declutterer and more of the fake diamond studs kind of person.
I have two naice necklaces (one I only keep for sentimental purposes), 2 pairs of earrings (one pair posh dangly, one pair cheap diamante studs), two everyday necklaces, a watch I never wear (use my phone instead) and a bracelet that annoys me.

chickydoo · 07/10/2013 09:04

I have lots of jewellery, lots of nice stuff, DH used to buy me diamonds etc... Before kids though Smile
I also have all my MIL's and my mothers rings etc. They both had some lovely pieces. I tend to wear the same stuff everyday though. I don't want to sell anything, I just need to wear more of it.

MurderOfBanshees · 07/10/2013 09:08

I have loads! I used to wear lots at a time though, so it's all left over from then. Maybe when I don't have a toddler to contend with then they will all come back out again. Nowadays though I only wear a single ring, not even earrings.

I do look at all my pretty necklaces hanging up in the bedroom every day though.

I have loads but bought a big wall rack to hang it all on. Now I can see it all I tend to wear it more which I'm glad about as I have lots of lovely bits that just weren't getting worn.

RainierWolfcastle · 07/10/2013 09:28

i always wonder with divorces at what point oyu actually take your wedding ring off

I don't have loads, but I make sure I do wear what I have by
a) making sure everything suits me - I look awful in tiny neat jewellery, it needs to be large scale and statementy
b) laying out clothes the night before (when i remember) and throwing accessories on top, so I don't have to think about it in the morning.

charitygirl · 07/10/2013 12:05

What hopefully said - i prob have 20 pieces in rotation (except earrings - i only wear large studs as just don't suit any type of danglers), all of which I really like and are my style, and I know which complement which necklines, sleeve lengths, styles, colours.

Please note none are expensive! I don't really do 'sentimental' or valuable jewellry, so I can ditch without guilt if and when bored. Heart of stone.

lucysmam · 07/10/2013 12:10

I have cases full! Spangly bits, bright bits, dark bits, shiny bits etc etc.....hardly wear any of it but am reluctant to just get rid because I like it (the majority is Primarni stuff probably).

I have started trying to sort it sensibly though so I have a case for earrings, and each pair in a little plastic bag....same for neclaces, bangles etc.

And I do try to remember to look properly for something to go with my outfit instead of just the first thing I come to Smile

noddyholder · 07/10/2013 12:27

God me too so many bits of stuff that just sits there. Tights and scarves too. I wear less as I get older too hate over accessorised outfits. I can't seem to part with it yet if someone threw half of it away I wouldn't notice or be able to name any of it.

bettybleep · 07/10/2013 12:42

I've got stuff dating back to the 80's that I'm now wearing again. I bought some cork pin boards to hang them on, and have those instead of pictures in my bedroom. I'd forget what I had if I couldn't see at a glance. I ought to improve the look of the boards though.. Maybe if I ever get around to decorating

lucysmam · 07/10/2013 12:51

oooh, corkboards are a good idea....think I might pinch that one Grin

bettybleep · 07/10/2013 14:07

Go ahead lucysmam... I didGrin
