School shoes for my fat footed DS

Sorry wasn't sure where else to post, hope ok here. Clark's measured DS as 2 I. They don't stock that width so he has to wear 2 H or 2.5 G/H.... but will cost me £36-40 for those sizes.

Is there anywhere else I can try for shoes that won't cost a bomb?

My DS has really narrow feet and I always find I have to buy him a size smaller in Matalan as their shoes are so wide they won't stay on his feet! Maybe try there?

Thanks I'll try there

With feet that unusually wide he really really does not need Matalan shoes...you could damage the growth of his feet and give him foot problems for life.
Unless you have standard F width feet you need specially fitted shoes.

You can buy used Clarks shoe off ebay and get them to check for fit in store. Or buy from an outlet Clarks-I have had real bargains from the McArthur Glenn store which fit them properly.

My DS also has this problem. He's now 12. If you think buying shoes are an issue, wait till you need football boots.
