Dying blonde hair dark, hair experts come talk to me

So my natural hair colour is a dirty blonde and has never been dyed, I have the urge to go dark like Carla/Michelle in corrie kind of colour, if I buy a dark semi permanent should I be able to achieve this easily? and if I hate it will it wash out or can I strip it out easily? if so with what?

I've had semi-permanent done on my naturally dark blonde hair and it faded to an awesome gingery sort of colour after a couple of months (not being sarky, I really liked it).

I'd ask a hairdresser, or at least do a temporary 3-wash dye first before going for a more permanent dye.
