I find the Maybelline Great Lash mascara lasts ages on me, and everything else tends to smudge, even more expensive brands. Its only about £5 a bottle.

soap & glory gets my vote .

I agree with Sparkle9, I'm in love with the Stay Perfect mascara. It does not smudge and removes with water- so not waterproof but I would say is rain/ tear-proof. I have really straight lashes I curl everyday and it also sets the curl well whereas most mascaras make my lashes droop. Brilliant.

Another vote for Stay Parfect Boots. It was hilarious, I went in and asked for help with mascara and the girl said, with perfectly earnest face "Are you looking for lengthening or thickening madam?" I just laughed and said, one that doesn't smudge by lunch time, and she marched me over to the Stay Perfect. What persuaded me was when she said it stays on in saunas and swimming pools. And lo, it is true. Washes off with soap and water, or eye makeup remover, but doesn't budge through the day, and I have a very hot face that melts makeup.

Another vote for Maybelline Great Lash. Been using it since I was a teenager and still nothing is as good.
