Could anyone help me and tell me what this item of clothing is called?

I have just finished watching Mona Lisa Smile (not a very good film to be honest) which is set in the 1950s, and during the end credits a woman is seen putting on a sort of elastic high-waisted mini skirt (presumably worn to keep your stomach flat underneath your dress). Now, I just wondered what this type of item would be called? It actually seems like a really good idea and I think I want one - I just don't know what to search for!

I've found a video of the end credits on youtube, the scene I'm describing starts at 0:16

Thanks in advance!

No YouTube for me, but I'd guess at a girdle?

My Nanna used to wear a full length one - called a corselette or a 'roll on'!
