Zara Meadowhall or Nottingham City Centre?

Which is the biggest?

I find myself home alone on Sunday and after browsing the website there seems to be quite a bit of good stuff worth a look. So do I go to Sheffield Meadowhall or Nottingham City Centre? M.hall is about an hour away and Nottingham about 1.20.

Anyone?

Meadowhall is big. Don't know how big Nottingham is

mysteryfairy · 04/10/2013 21:30

The selection in meadowhall is pretty poor compared to the website. My normal technique is to order everything I want to try on to be delivered to the store. I try on in their changing rooms and immediately return what I don't want.

thenightsky · 04/10/2013 21:54

Bit late for me to order stuff to try on in store sadly.

Nottingham is probably bigger in size as its two floors but the bottom floor last time I went was all kids stuff. I'd say that there's more floor space devoted to adult clothes at Meadowhall.

But I haven't been to Nottingham in over a year.

thenightsky · 04/10/2013 22:07

Viva I've not been to Notts or M.hell for at least year. Tempted to just go to Leeds.

The Nottingham store has 2 floors of women's clothes (one being mostly the TRF (?) stuff), a floor of men's and kids in the basement. I've not been in the Meadowhe'llhall one for a while but from memory the total space devoted to women's is probably pretty similar to Nottingham.

defineme · 04/10/2013 22:09

Nottingham has Goose Fair on this weekend so might be a bit rammed. Leeds is by far your nicest option Smile

PenelopePipPop · 04/10/2013 22:09

3 floors at Nottingham - top floor is menswear and some womenswear, groundfloor all womenswear, basement kids.

Never been to Meadowhall so cannot compare though.

GreatSoprendo · 04/10/2013 22:10

defineme is definitely correct - avoid Nottingham at all costs during Goose Fair, it's bedlam.

VivaLeThrustBadger · 04/10/2013 22:13

I never noticed the top floor in Nottingham. Grin

VivaLeThrustBadger · 04/10/2013 22:14

Btw NightSky, did you know there's meant to be a big H&M opening in Lincoln soon?

thenightsky · 04/10/2013 22:15

Phew thank god I posted... Nottingham Goosefair avoidance!

Leeds or M.Hell it is then.

Viva is the H&M going near BHS in the town centre? There's been hoardings up for ages now.

Meadowhall does now sell KrispyKreme doughnuts.

VivaLeThrustBadger · 04/10/2013 22:18

Nope, waterside centre, along with a big new Next. Someone told me Next is also for the waterside centre but not sure where it would fit. Next to bhs (ha ha) would make more sense as its their old site.

thenightsky · 04/10/2013 22:20

Probably the old Primark site on the ground floor then.

There is loads of empty space in Waterside. I heard that the rents were ridiculously high there though.

What is this Stormfront that is meant to be there then? Never heard of it, although, to be fair, I barely bother going in Waterside. Just use it as a shortcut from the high street to the Broadgate multistory.

VivaLeThrustBadger · 04/10/2013 22:48

It's basically a non Apple, Apple shop. It only sells Apple products, sells all iPads, iPods, accessories, etc. I think there's no Genius Bar so that's the difference between Stormfront and Apple as far as I can tell.

thenightsky · 04/10/2013 23:05

Oh right... I've seen that it's - opposite the bra shop that's gone bust (geddit?)

I think nearly everything has gone bust in there. I've heard BodyShop have shut up shop! Not that I ever go in.

thenightsky · 05/10/2013 20:16

Well I ended up in Meadowhall today. Got one nice pair of work trousers in Zara but all the tops I'd spied on line were either not there at all or the wrong sizes Sad

Gap was full of shite apart from a %merino wool jumper at £20.

Got a blue fine knit top in Phase 8 sale.

Two tops from Next but will probably take one back to my local store tomorrow as I'm really not sure about it. There was a nice tunic in there, but no size 12s left at all.

Meadowhall was heaving and too hot and VERY noisy. I'll not be going again in a hurry.
