Do ankle boots just not suit some people?

Grrrr just lost my message!

I'm starting to think that they just look shit on me for some reason!
I love them on other people, but I've been looking for 2 years and haven't found any I like, I thought I was being fussy but now I think it's because they make me look frumpy and dumpy.
I don't know why because I'm 31, 5'8 and a size 10 pear.
Am I weird? Does anyone else feel the same?
Do I need to persevere or do I just give up and buy some other boots?
I'm looking for a more casual biker/cowboy ish tan colour, is this why? I want to wear with skinnies and skirts, dresses.
I have a few pairs I've ordered and been debating for a while and really need to send them back today if you all think I'm not weird and some people just don't suit them!!!

I must have tried on 25 pairs of ankle boots and they have all looked awful. I have come to the conclusion that my calves are too big. I will stick to my calf high biker boots & my converse trainers.

So it looks like I'm not the only one then! But I've not got thin ankles or big calves so they can't be the reason they don't look good on me! It's very annoying!

To some extent it's all down to perception of what you look like.

I didn't get into skinny jeans for ages - every time I tried them on I thought "ooh no" and went back to my bootcuts, mainly because that was what I was used to. Now I'm never out of skinnies, and feel like one of The Osmonds if I wear bootcuts.

Unfortunately, I'm always a little bit behind the curve. By the time I get used to a look it is already moving out of fashion. Grin

I do like ankle boots, though, but there are good and bad styles; you just need to try loads on.

They are a disaster on me - I have massive feet and am a bit of a short arse so they look like I've borrowed a grown ups boots.
