Leather classic looking watch for dh for £150 where and what brands please?

The sports watch I bought for dh a few yrs ago he doesn't like to wear for work. He's in shirt tie/suit he would like a more classic looking watch for anniversary gift.

I just don't know anything about watches. I don't know what brands to look at or where to get the best value for my budget. I suppose 150 isn't much but I'd like something decent that will last a bit.

He is in his forties. He has quite a modern classic style. He doesn't like too much bling but then he will surprise me with liking something a bit different and edgy than I'd expect.

I have a two yr old and a baby and if really appreciate any ideas, concentrating to shop is tricky!

dp has a lovely Armani mens watch, rectangular face, black leather strap. I think I paid about £140 for it last Christmas from a chain jeweller. Just had a look and its gone up now at £185 but they have some nice round face ones for less than £150 www.ernestjones.co.uk/webstore/l/watches/brand%7Cemporio+armani/

I also looked at fossil watches which the sales person in john lewis was highly recommending.

Skagen watches are good, the leather strap ones are especially nice

Life and dontletthem - This is all really helpful and gets me started. I hadn't heard of mondaines before, interesting they can be fixed.

Nixon watches are lovely. Classic with a twist.

Mondaine. Have just treated myself. Beautiful.

My husband has a mondaine and a christopher ward.

I would definitely recommend the christopher ward for quality.

It's by far the better quality out of the two and feels solid and very well made.
I have since bought them for presents for other members of the family:

(They are available in black for brown strap)

I'd recommend a fossil watch - I bought one for dh as. Wedding present and he loves it. Looks classic but has a modern twist. Also fossil are great quality and the customer service in the shop was excellentGrin

Tk Maxx have some really nice Ingersoll watches in at the moment in classic styles with jewelled mechanisms.

Thanks for the input. I haven't looked at all the brands just yet but liked the simplicity of the mondaines only to be told he didn't like them.

He does like this

But out of budget. I will try and shop around. I just got my p45 this week having resigned many yrs. I'm a SAHM mum now and feel poor already!

Anyone know of any good online watch outlets please let me know!
