Opinions please! Is it naff to wear a jumper dress over skinny jeans??

It's an above knee, plain black jumper dress. I would wear it with just tights and boots or summat but as an inverted triangle my hips and legs taper off into nothing and I think I need a bit more 'bulk' on my bottom half!
Thanks.

I hope not as that is my winter 'uniform'.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 30/09/2013 13:13

The jeans wouldn't give much bulk imo.Go with tights and boots.Chunked or slouching boots with balance a little.Or you could go with some funky patterned or coloured tights.

Vote against I'm afraid. The jeans-under-dress is a look I've never "got". Although it's better with skinnies than with boot-cut.

I'm with TripTrap balance it with boots or funky tights.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/09/2013 13:35

Its not a look I'm fond of - agree balance out with boots or look for a different style of dress.

Onesleeptillwembley · 30/09/2013 13:41

Never seen it look good, sorry. Agree with the boots idea.

polyhymnia · 30/09/2013 13:47

I think it only works if it looks like a long top or tunic. If it is clearly meant to look like a dress, I agree chunky tights and boots are a better way to go.

bunnymother · 30/09/2013 13:56

I also am not a fan of this look. Boots and tights are a better idea IMO.

PrimalLass · 30/09/2013 18:28

Actually mine are not dresses, they are mid-thigh.

justasecond · 30/09/2013 19:01

I think it looks fine and its a look I wear a lot. Agree doesn't work if the dress looks like a dress iyswim. Looks better with ankle or shorter biker boots rather than knee high.

Thank you all. Will attempt it with tights and I have flat black ankle boots. I risk looking like a carrot though!
