What to wear with pencil skirt?

Please help me, I have no idea about style/fashion. I have bought a couple of Jersey pencil skirts to see me through the winter party season...however I have no idea what tops to wear with them. I have tried all sorts, loose tops (look like im wearing a tent), vest tops (shows off my post baby belly) and dipped hem tops which just don't suit. What the hell do I wear?! I have one in berry red, another in grey and one with a black/white pattern. I'm 5ft 7in, size 10-12, no boobs and a bit of bloaty post baby belly if that helps.

Some of the trends for this season are T Blouses - a cross between a T shirt and blouse. These can range from something fairly casual to very dressy and embellished. Also jumpers with peter pan collars, either patterned/animal print, lace, embellished etc. Capped sleeve blouses also look nice with pencil skirts, as do well cut t shirts (ie. not skin tight or shapeless ones, but ones that skim the body).

Jumpers or blouses. I love a slim fitting jumper with pencil skirts. Very easy outfit!

Fitted-ish 'posh' sweatshirt? The sort of thing that Whistles do well. Dress it up with a necklace.
