Desparate for eyecolour and lipstick suggestions for a "clear winter" colouring

I have dark brown hair and light green-blue eyes. My skin is on the pale side.
I've recently diagnosed myself as being a clear winter and am now trying to get the makeup to match, but I'm finding it quite hard!
I'm especially desperate for lipstick colour suggestions. I've never worn lipstick before but I would love to (instant glamour and all that) but I'm totally flummoxed by the choices in the shops!
I bought Revlon Just bitten Lipstain in "passion" the other day and quite like it, although it's very bright and I feel quite self-conscious wearing it (but maybe this is just because I'm not used to wearing anything on my lips)
I would love to have some suggestions for shades that I can wear at work (I work in uniform, so would like to look nice but not too made-up iykwim) as well as some that I can wear for going out.
Anyone got any ideas?
