I know that they are neither stylish nor beautiful but they are handy. Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation? Ideally quality thick towelling.

A man's terry towelling hooded dressing gown?

It's really beachware I'm after, bit late in the season I know. Just something comfy and warm to put on after a dip in the sea.

SIL made one for herself out of a couple of bath towels from primark. No idea why they aren't available as freely as they are for kids!

YoungJoseph · 28/09/2013 22:14

I was thinking the same, perhaps I could make one myself.

They do definitely exist as I have seen them for sale in places like St Ives and Padstow. Maybe try googling for surfer shops?

YoungJoseph · 29/09/2013 13:41

Yes they do exist, but you're right not in shops that I recognise which is why I was after a recommendation.

I was going to say surf shops too. My dh has got one.

here

What you'll be wanting is a Robie robe. Not sexy at all but DH who swims in the open air year round swears by them.

YoungJoseph · 29/09/2013 18:43

Yeah! Thanks for your help.

don't know if they are big enough for grown men (!) but we got some lovely thick big towels online from a company called Hooded Owls...
