Black Ankle Boots - is black 'limiting' or would navy be better ...

.... or grey, for that matter?

I want a pair of boots for everyday, casual wear but can't make my mind up about black. Do they look a bit mumsy paired with jeans - skinnies? My jeans are mostly shades of blue though I have one black pair and also grey and aubergine cords.

Am thinking along the lines of Ash Spirals (but am not sure about the weathered look) or there are a couple of pairs of Hudson boots which look nice though I think I'd prefer a low heel to flat. And then there is the very nice navy pair which MrsCB linked to on another thread lat week.

Have been procrastinating for weeks - help!

Thanks

If you're only buying one pair, black makes sense - it's style not Colour which makes a boot mumsy. Spirals are nice

I was surprised that when I had grey boots they went with more than I thought and were more interesting than black. But that being said most of my footwear is black.

I love black boots with jeans. I think they look so much better than brown but I do realise I am in the minority on MN who think this.

I like black boots with jeans too Smile

I can't imagine navy boots would go with most of my wardrobe but maybe that's because I'm used to everything going with black/Brown.

Grey might be a nice change though and goes well with denim.

I just bought some burgundy ankle boots from office-they come in Black and tan too but I figured burgundy would go with more, they are sooo comfy, definitely recommend them!

I bought these today . I returned a pair of Ash Jalouse because I wasn't keen on the worn look, nor the fact that my feet fell out of them when I tried to walk! The Bertie ones are lovely and fit the way I hoped the Ash ones would. Very flattering with jeans or skirts/dresses.

Grin

I like black boots with jeans
And brown boots with jeans

But they need to match my handbag (because I'm ancient and these things matter)

MrsMcGregor · 27/09/2013 21:57

Oh good! I can now try to decide between .....

Ash Spirals

Hudson Mirar

Hudson Horrigan

Jalouse in a grey shade

And, finally the navy boots from another thread

Hmmmm - do wish I could go into one shop and try them all on because I bet I would discount most of them inside 5 minutes!

Like the links above - Bertie boots a fantastic bargain Ujjayi - are they true to size?
