What would you recommend in terms of texture, colour and staying power?

47 yo, normal skin brown hair / browny hazel eyes

I fancy having a nosy in Superdrugs tomorrow .
(I like BarryM - I love the metallic eye pencils but not impressed at their nail polish)

Gosh , absolutely. I'm a huge fan. I find it better than MAC

Thants · 27/09/2013 07:19

Mua have some great stuff for the price, the primer, eyebrow kit and cream blusher are all brilliant.
Gosh do some beautiful nail polishes and more interesting colours in eye shadow etc. so maybe mua for basics and gosh for sparkly things!

TallulahBetty · 27/09/2013 07:22

Agree with Thants. I am a big MUA fan and really rate their stuff - staying power is as good as any brand. However I think Gosh have more 'bling' and glitter so get a mixture of both.

for me, Gosh is the best quality ie eyeliners and foundation but MUA is great for experimenting

alltoomuchrightnow · 27/09/2013 19:28

ie my fave for quality out of all brands..not just compared to MUA. though they dont make my fave liquid liners anymore

Just bought MUA undereye concealer today and loose powder - pretty impressed for the price! It's obviously popular - they'd sold out of most of their ranges...

MUA for the money are just fantastic, GOSH is okay but not worth the money in my opinion. You can get much better products for the same money that you would spend with GOSH with brands like Maybelline, Rimmel & L'Oreal.

i have watery eyes..i don't like their eyeliners..they come off me in seconds. the nail varnish had good staying power on my toenails

alltoomuchrightnow · 27/09/2013 23:08

MUA i mean

thepurplepenguin · 27/09/2013 23:16

Sleek is the best superdrug range imo.

evertonmint · 27/09/2013 23:24

Sleek does really fantastic blushers and I like their eye shadow too so definitely worth a look while you're in there.

Was impressed with the MUA eyeshadow palettes but I must admit was a bit disappointed with the mascara. Thought it smudged after a couple of hours. Lipgloss ok though.
