Curly hair people - your help is needed! What are your staple styling items?

I have curly hair, prone to frizziness which I have just let grow and grow and grow and up till now have just been sticking it in a bun. Until today. It has been cut and is now shoulder length, which is far more manageable. However, I need some help with styling products and just wondered what others use?

Have you tried coconut oil to tame frizz on the ends?

I use Kerastase Oleo Curl Huile - it's relatively expensive compared with my normal outlay on this kind of thing but I like it. Sa
w it recommended on here and used it ever since!

Bumble and bumble curl spray
Morrocan oil on the ends
James brown smoothing serum
John Frieda frizz ease new oil elixir thing
Kerasrase shampoo and conditioner for curly hair

Used to use some VO5 tousle stuff which made it less old lady. Then I had it straightened and now it is awesome. Does that help? :$

Boots Pink curl cream for £2.50 a tub is ace. I used to also like Umberto Giannini Curl Friends mousse and jelly but they've reformulated and apparently gone off.

I use shampoo/conditioner for curly hair but it's after that - once it's washed I'm not sure what's best to use to style it? If I leave it, it just turns into a frizzy mess.

I've not used coconut oil chocolatespiders is it any good? I find the amount of products out there a bit overwhelming tbh - I never know what to go for!

Seconding the kerastase oil. It's really good. Also do you have any Asian supermarkets near you? They sell various types of hair oil for about £3 which are great. Use sparingly!

I asked a similar question in relation to my DD's hair recently - although hers is wavy with frizz most of the replies were more about curly - you should find some useful advice in it here.

All the anti frizz stuff and oil, looks really good but doesnt withstand a days work for me, starts to frizz within about 4 hours. So I keep the posh oil for going out, and the cheap moose for everyday.

I don't use shampoo for curly hair anymore.There is no need.

My styling is as follows:

Wash and condition
apply a dab of frizz ease and a dab of phil smith argan oil cream to SOAKING hair
Immediately put in a microfiber towel using the 'plopping' technique.
After 30 minutes remove the towel and watch curls bounce down looking the best they ever have and leave to finish drying (doesn't take anywhere near as long if the above is done).
Walk out the door with shiny,bouncy frizz free curls and have people staring at your head (the copper may assist with that attention!)

Its brilliant. just that is all you need.

This is what I do.

Wash hair in shower, rinse and squeeze excess water out.
leave hair in wrap for few minutes then with detangle comb, comb through leave in conditioner Charles Worthington.
Then apply curl crème from superdrug called This one. It is really cheap and the only one that wasn't expensive that isn't sticky or dries like cardboard.
Please try it its great.
Then leave to dry or diffuse.
Mine is really curly, springs up several inches and almost like a z.
Very coarse, dry, frizzy, medium length and very thick.
This one works a treat.

Tresemme Naturals re nourish shampo and conditioner. Use a bit of the conditioner as a leave in/serum then V05 mega hold gel spray or curl boost spray (that's hard to find now but they have it in savers) dry with a diffuser and my hair stays curly all day and not frizzy. I only wash it every 4 days. On the other days I just rinse in the shower, use the products and dry. Helps with frizz but if it is a bit frizzy I put on some coconut oil when it's dry. I could write a book about my hair

This Boots pink curl cream - it does the job.

Oil products don't seem to suit me - my hair is very fine and there is not a lot of it.

I tried that Boots pink stuff after seeing so many recommendations on here in the past, but hated it - made the back of my neck itchy and just felt horrible.

Was going to post same question so really useful. My hair has come back curly after chemotherapy and I have no idea what to do with it now it's about 2 inches long.

I have long thick curly hair & have tried all sorts to keep my curls looking vaguely under control.

in a bid to cut my budget, I tried a few products in boots & finally settled with frizz-ease - love them! Not horrible crunchy feeling either.

I use my normal l'oreal shampoo & conditioner, squeeze hair dry with a towel, squirt Dream Curls styling spray on, give it a gentle scrunch & let it air dry.

Then once its almost dry I tidy a few curls up with Spiral Style styling gel and once completely dry (if it needs it) or whenever I just need a tidy up or discourage impending fluffiness I use Secret Agent perfecting cream.

All Frizzease products. If it can sort my mop out then its worth a try believe me...!

GreenShadow I agree, I tried it years ago and hated it.

I use Tigi Curlesque shampoo, conditioner and the Curls rock amplifier. My very frizzy hair now dries into proper curls. I just wash my hair then wrap it in a towel. I never rub it just take the towel off do some minor alterations to get the parting etc right then kind of just touch the rock amplifier onto the hair. I find that too much messing with fingers through it leaves it frizzy. I then leave it alone until it's dry.

I have tried so many products low end to high and these are the only ones I have found that work and don't make my hair look greasy or to weighed down.

The bonus of the pink curl creme is that if it doesn't suit you, you've only wasted £1.50.
