Possibly the rudest customer service ever - bra related

A friend went bra shopping London today and ventured into Intimissimi in Oxford St. She is around a 30H in size but had no idea about their sizes range etc., just liked the look of the bras in the window. In her own words:

"I would like to thank Intimissimi, the lingerie shop for making me feel like a sack of shit today-when I ask what cup size you go up to in your bras I do not expect some tiny little Italian girl to look at my boobs shake her head in despair and say 'we do all sizes...even up to an E for elephant' needless to say I knocked the bitch out with my ample boobs turned on my delicate heel and marched out of the store."

Obviously she didn't knock anyone over and regained her poise with a wonderful fitting at Bravissimo, but honestly, this is disgraceful!

Seething on her behalf.

I had something similar at intimissimi in Westfield regarding my back size.

MrsMongoose · 25/09/2013 20:53

You sure she was being insulting and not just using 'd for dog,me for elephant' as a method of getting over an Italian accent?

SorrelForbes · 25/09/2013 20:54

Fucking outrageous. I'm so angry on her (and your) behalf.

Well, I wasn't there but friend says there was some pointed looking at her chest before the fateful sentence was uttered.

Cheeky cow! Is that the company that advertises with models looking like hookers in some woodland? They can stick their Knickers! I'm cross for you.

SorrelForbes · 25/09/2013 20:58

Yep that's them! Those models will catch their death out in the woods in their smalls.

it's a shame because their bras are very pretty.

Nothing compares to being openly laughed at in La Senza. Then when confronted with my face like thunder being asked if i'm actually serious. After that i went into pret and cried and bought a cake Blush

SorrelForbes · 25/09/2013 21:00

Oh MrsKoala that's bloody awful. I did a secret shopper in La Senza and they were completely confused by my size (30GG) and suggested a 36DD.

She should have said 'Sorry, can you repeat that? I can't hear or see you as my funbags are in the way. Not that you'd know much about that... Hello?'

SorrelForbes · 25/09/2013 21:01

Intimissimo bras start at a 32 back so god knows what their models are wearing. I bet the bands are up by the shoulder blades!

They're pretty, but they're bloody awful quality.

I bought a set in Rome a few years ago, and they didn't last ten minutes.

MrsKoala · 25/09/2013 21:04

The bras don't even seem to fit the models in la senza tho. There's boob spilling out all over the shop and wire on breast tissue at the sides.

SorrelForbes · 25/09/2013 21:05

I think my friend muttered something about needing an H for heffalump as she exited!

MrsKoala · 25/09/2013 21:05

and intimissimi - if you are a bra shop for a nation of petite people, surely the backs should start at 26 or something?

treaclesoda · 25/09/2013 22:30

this makes me so so angry. Is it any wonder so many women hate their bodies? When I was younger a comment like that would have destroyed me.
