I want something not to high but versatile enough to go with jeans and dresses/ skirts. Thanks

I own the Clark's ones I'm 34. They are a very different style to the OPs boots. I wear the Clarkson with skater dresses and cardigans and leggings with long jumpers and well whatever I can fit into at the moment um 38 weeks pregnant. They're the most comfy boots I've ever owned but they are bot really what I imagine OP is after. Have to Say again though OP they do look totally dated.

Bexicles · 24/09/2013 20:44

Dune have some great boots in at the moment (sorry can't do links) I have just bought a pair of biker boots from there and love them.

OP have you considered a pair of Ash spirals? I think they work well with jeans and dresses.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/09/2013 20:50

I actually quite like them, especially the contrast between the leather and the wood (but am a sucker for both wooden heels and slight platforms). I think the heel shape is a bit too narrow though - they'd be good with trousers but less so with skirts/dresses.

I don't think that they are frumpy at all - the Clarks ones are more frumpy.

I really like these.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/09/2013 20:50

Scrap mine - they are plastic. Grrrr.

emsyj · 24/09/2013 20:50

Haha, I posted the suggested Clarks boots a couple of weeks ago and was told they were lovely and super-fashionable by lots of posters, just goes to show it depends who clicks on your thread!

I ordered the Clarks ones and sent them back - just not quite right for me, I didn't think they went with skirts, but very comfortable and nice. Not massively keen on the OP's chosen boots but I am so fussy, I have ordered and returned 3 pairs so far and am awaiting delivery of choice no.4 for this winter!

FunnysInLaJardin · 24/09/2013 20:51

I like them and have some similar ones in OxBlood

Bexicles · 24/09/2013 20:51

I can!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/09/2013 20:51

These?

BetsyBidwell · 24/09/2013 20:51

i hate side buckles

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/09/2013 20:53

I lurve buckles. Wink I think it's something to do with my inner pirate.

Bexicles · 24/09/2013 20:53

Love that second pair Remus

emsyj · 24/09/2013 20:54

These have a similar cutout detail but they are black and leather - I almost ordered them but went for a knee high boot in the end. I do like these though, I think they would be nice with skirts and trousers.

I am in love with Clarks at the moment....

Fairylea · 24/09/2013 21:07

See I think the dune ones upthread are really frumpy :) .. they're very pirate etc, to me that isn't the in look. But as this thread shows we all have very different ideas about frumpy!

Totally NOT suitable but I am boot browsing and I love these ..

Over the knee is supposedly the big thing for winter.

I'd need a lottery win to get the ones I linked to though! :)

Another vote for frumpsville, how about these instead?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/09/2013 21:39

Twinkle - to me that are not just mum but granny trying to be hip. Sorry.

ShoeWhore · 24/09/2013 21:57

Sorry OP I tend to agree there is something not quite right about those boots.

sweetsoulsister · 24/09/2013 22:25

The Clarks boots are so similar to these:
acne boots

which were hugely popular...

NoComet · 24/09/2013 23:24

Remus
Those red/black and gold boots are great fun, but you could only wear them twice, they are just too memorable!

As for the daft cut out things, surely they will date terribly.

SavoyCabbage · 24/09/2013 23:41

The boots are frumpy in every way. The roundyness. The shine. The heel shape.

LeoandBoosmum · 25/09/2013 00:28

Hmmm...these seem to be Marmite boots! Grin Thanks, ladies!

OP posts:
NoComet · 25/09/2013 13:25

I think all boots are a bit marmite, they are expensive, you have to limit yourself to a sub set you have a use for.

I like those boots, I can think of two mum's at school they would look great on. They wear heels and a smarter version of casual than I do.

My heeled boots have to do smart skirts as well as trousers to earn their keep and so the wooden heels are slightly questionable. I'd have to try them.

If your 5'4" with tiny little size 4 feet all block heeled biker boots are hideous.

They may actually be lovely on someone else, but on me I look like I'm auditioning for the role of garden gnome.
