North Face: Triclimate Trench or Arctic Parka?

I need to get a winter coat for school run/walks etc - am thinking about either the Arctic Parka or Triclimate Trench, both from the North Face.

Any feedback or alternative suggestions would be good - am size 14/16, would like something in winter white with a good and not to bulky.

The Arctic parka is the long term love of my life, I have lost weight since I bought it but I still feel joy every time I slide into it....it's like wearing a big hug.

Thanks snowlie - how bulky is it? It looks quite slim which is good but I still want cosy.

I have the arctic parka it is v warm and I was never cold in it but felt ridiculous in a city centre in it. Was perfect for school runs and standing around outside watching the kids sports activities. I did loads of research and it is rare to find a down coat that is truly waterproof.

It's bulky and I feel like a walking duvet especially now I have lost weight but it is warm and dry and in comparison to my down filled uniqlo coat which claims to have the same fill, I would claim the uniqlo one is for autumn/spring. Dh has bought the men's version...he often finds it too warm and only wears it when it's around sub zero...I rarely have that complaint, I'm so cold blooded it's unreal.

Yes I definitely need warm - school playground is really exposed and windy, it's freezing waiting around. But I don't want bulky - they both looked warm and miraculously non-bulky. Maybe I need to try on in real life.
