That will double us as something to wear in New York where I'm going in November. I might be thinking of separates.

I'm a good 14. Wedding will be night do only. A boho hip crowd which is why I'm only invited to the night! on a farm with a marquee. In two weeks time. I'm all in a tizz.

Budget? Height? do you want dress/skirt or trousers?

Ruprekt · 22/09/2013 17:06

Am thinking trousers would be good with heels and a sparkly top. SmileSmile

Ruprekt · 22/09/2013 17:07

Or wellies. Grin

Go to Oxford Circus. On Regent St. look in & other stories, Hobbs, Cos, Jaeger, Jigsaw (Argle Street behind the tube)and even Topshop boutique range. All in close proximity. Also John Lewis Temperly collection is nice.

I thought I could get long boots as they would be handy in NYC?

In 5 6 but not thing!

Is Oxford street my best bet?

Yes. Go to Selfridges first. Then John Lewis. Then Liberty off Regents Street. That's my wedding outfit triumvirate and it hasn't failed me in nearly 25 years. Been going since my mid twenties. Liberty is a splash the cash on an accessory stop. Obviously there are lots of other stores but I get too bored tramping in and out of them endlessly.

VestaCurry · 23/09/2013 00:27

Not sure about that dress translating to November in New York?

Lighthousekeeping · 23/09/2013 00:38

True. It must be from the summer. Tbh I need a v neckline. Bloody menopausal boobs!

I'm thinking of NYC more than the wedding do if I'm honest. The wedding is four hours max NYC is six nights and I'm hoping on one of those nights I will be awake enough to go to a jazz club or a gay bar!

VestaCurry · 23/09/2013 01:10

Sounds fab! I have to do v necks too (or a wide low scoop) 34FF here so understand!

Lighthousekeeping · 23/09/2013 11:13

I'm just psyching myself up to get to the tube station!

Phone John Lewis and see if they have any appointments with a personal shopper available. They sometimes have last minute availability. If you can get something early on you can still shop yourself if you don't like what they come up with.

It's free, and you don't have to buy anything.

Lighthousekeeping · 23/09/2013 13:11

That's a good idea. I've lost my enthusiasm. I think I will look around today and go back Thursday and buy.
