Body Shop back brush... Went mouldy! Can I fix it?

I never really exfoliate my back so bought one of the BS cactus back brushes for this. Really liked it and have used it a couple of times.

I always put it on the edge of the bath with its bristles pointing downwards to drain the water away.

Only..... It seems to be retaining water amazingly well, and has now gone all mouldy!! It's as though it wasn't meant to get wet or something Confused

Would you try weak bleaching it? Buy another? Or is there a decent alternative??

White vinegar kills mould.I'd probably just buy another though and hang it up to dry off

Thanks Trap. Nowhere to hang it and would need to drill hole in tile to install a hook.... Will try white vinegar!!

I would get a new one. Can't think washing yourself with a fungus infected loofah can be good for your health.
They all go a bit mouldy. It's the damp warm shower that encourages it.

Keep mine out of waters reach unless using it and always dry on a radiator after use. You could try some cleaning product with bleach in. I'd personally get a new one Wink

I would use a plastic brush for wet use and a natural bristle brush for dry body brushing. I would take it back, explain to the manager and exchange it for one of these cloths. You can hold either end across your back and scrub well that way. (I work at TBS and most managers will be happy to exchange products for you).
