Tommy Hilfiger - good brand or "pay for the name" brand?

I'm thinking of getting a coat from them, but it's £££ and I can get similar for less. However, is it great quality stuff?

I think it's overrated but quite good quality. Everything I have from them has lasted quite a few years. But I don't think I'd buy a coat from them, a bit overpriced.

I just ordered TH jeans - they have good sales right now. When it comes to jeans TH is my favourite, because they are one of the few brands that really fit me well, and they last as well. Them and Levi's.

I buy their shirts for work as well, and always love them.

I don't think TH clothes look particularly trendy, and I wouldn't buy them to impress, but to me it's worth paying extra for good quality that never disappoints me in terms of the cut, and lasts well.

I've had a few of their down padded coats and loved them. I've had to sell them on eBay because they are too big for me now and I got a Kenneth Cole one from TK Maxx instead. It's def nowhere near Tommy Hilfiger in quality - the feathers keep coming through and the zip has come unstitched a bit and needs sewing up again. If you can afford it, I'd go for it.

I've just re-discovered TH about 6 months ago . Previously I had it in my head it was a bit chavtastic but I was really surprised when I went in the store on Regent street. I've since bought a couple of things and the quality is great. All cotton and has washed really well. I got a fab cricket style jumper in the house of Fraser sale which is really flattering.

I think the quality is quite good and I would consider it more if it didn't have and TH labels on it. I hate clothes with distinctive labels on the outside as I find it tacky. But I agree that the stuff always seems well made.

I agree - the logo doesn't help.

I have a fab paisley work shirt from TH, always get compliments on it, great fabric and fit

i have grey tweed shorts from there - the kids section! - and they are amazing. v well cut, great fabric. they only have a tiny HF label on the side of one pocket, too much branding puts me off too.

Their shoes are the comfiest things ever. Even the heels.

Not incredibly exciting looking but great for everyday.

Hilfiger is now replacing Lauren for everyday basics in our house

the TH stuff I have only has the teeniest little logo, no big letters or anything, just the little TH embroidered navy white and red, very discreet. Or little tiny metallic logos. I like their shorts too.

DH got a TH coat at TK max 5 years ago, he still wears it most days if it's cold. Was a real bargain, has only just started to show signs of wear now.

I don't know about coats, but agree their jeans are great. I discovered them when spending a credit voucher in a shop with nothing that I wanted, otherwise wouldn't have bought them. I'm going to spend cash buying more though.

The frustrating thing about TH is it's half the price in the US! Long lasting though especially for DH who loves their boxers and jeans
