Dark skinny jeans/jeggings for a shortie?

flootshoot · 18/09/2013 19:32

I'm v. short, just under five foot. I want a pair of dark indigo skinnies. I'm a size 10-12 but a bit of stretch is nice to accommodate the mum-tum which shall be concealed by carefully selected tops!! Any recommendations?

£7 primark skinnies. I got them last autumn though... Not sure if they have the same or equivalent in now. Bought them due to the price feeling very sceptical, but they're my favourite jeans. I'm 5'2".

New Look have just started doing a petite range, and have stretchy skinnies in 28 and 26 inch legs.

flootshoot · 18/09/2013 19:38

That was quick thanks! No Primark here , but we have a new look, I'll have a butchers tomorrow.

Dorothy Perkins do petite skinny jeans in indigo and black

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/09/2013 19:39

The M&S ones.

flootshoot · 18/09/2013 19:43

Hmm, I have the M&S ones in black and I do like them but they're a tiny bit 'grippy' on the thigh. I might try them though.

I do love DP but can I find a shop that has the petite range in store?! Hmm

Grippy?

flootshoot · 18/09/2013 19:48

Sorry I couldn't think of a better word. They cling and gather slightly despite fitting everywhere else. Basically my thighs are slightly chunky in proportion to the rest of me but I don't have the same problem with other brands. I'm not too worried about that though as I've lost weight through lots of walking and I've just increased again so I'm hoping they'll slim down a bit more! Grin

another vote for primark, i am currently wearing black super soft ultra skinnies, in a size 12 short leg length, only £7. they do a variety of denim shades.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/09/2013 19:57

I'd say it's worth a try. My indigo ones are deffo looser than my black ones.

flootshoot · 18/09/2013 20:32

Thanks I'll give them a try Remus :)

I like the super skinnies by Red Herring in Debenhams. I'm 5'2" and their short length is perfect on me.

MillionPramMiles · 19/09/2013 13:11

Tophop petite range or DP petite range (I'm also just under 5 ft). If they don't have them in store you can order online and get them delivered to the store.
Also have a look at the cropped skinnies in the normal ranges, I found some New Look ones that are ankle length on me.

The best quality skinnies I've bought have been from Uniqlo. Lasted really well, not too 'grippy' (I know exactly what you mean) and in the London stores they take them up for free. And under £30 too. Appreciate might not be convenient if you don't live there though.

dottyaboutstripes · 19/09/2013 13:54

My mum tum currently nicely contained in Topshop Jamie

duckyfuzz · 19/09/2013 13:58

what about JohnnieB range at boden?

flootshoot · 19/09/2013 16:41

Well as luck would have it MIL turned up today and we took an I scheduled trip to Primark... I now own a pair of £7 skinnies. No idea how long they'll last but for that price I'm willing to gamble. Will check out the others though for next time. :)

I see you've found some but Uniqlo are good for future reference - they shorten them for you on the same day too!

flootshoot · 19/09/2013 17:58

I will definitely bear uniqlo in mind!

I got some in Next that were a good length on me (also a shortarse).
