Ok, I know we all love a good M&S bashing thread but I think they have really excelled themselves with this coat...

And THAT is what Orville looked like when he got old and grey.

That actually made me burst out laughing.

They are mad aren't they? I mean some of their stuff is really great, but by God the bad stuff is truly beyond awful.

MrsCakesPremonition · 19/09/2013 10:32

Yabadabadoo

sophiedaal · 19/09/2013 11:33

Some of M&S offerings are so surreally bad - in the face of their much-publicised attempts to get better/listen to customers/pare down the ranges - that there has to be a secret explanation. I would suggest:

  1. some sort of tax dodge involved unsold/unsaleable stock
  2. fashion internships open only to children of influential shareholders
  3. very dark design studios, due to lighting budget cuts
  4. drugs in the Very Chocolately Biscuits
  5. an elaborate alien joke ("Watch how the earthlings puzzle over the nylon tabard!! Hahahahah! They're trying it on... with those leather-look skeggings! hahahah!" etc)
BIWI · 19/09/2013 11:47

I think you have it spot on, sophiedaal! Grin

DuelingFanjo · 19/09/2013 11:51

omg, I LOVE the donkey tabard. The ebay one.

nicename · 19/09/2013 12:34

I like prints with wee animals but this is going a bit too far with all the fur and animal print.

They're all at it:

I couldn't stop giggling when I saw that in Asda the other day - I had to call DP over to see it too and he ran away embarrassed at the hysterical pregnant lady.

Gosh - it makes me want to sing Grin

ViviDeBeauvoir · 19/09/2013 19:27

Rooners - did you not see in the description of that coat?
'Button fastening with concealed feature' it would seem that glorious pattern you're describing is the 'concealed feature' Grin

God I love these threads

Kamchatka · 19/09/2013 19:29

Oh nice one Asda, a jumper with two fannies Grin

ViviDeBeauvoir · 19/09/2013 19:29

Shock at that asda jumper.

What were they thinking?!
Presumably as it's priced at only £14 they couldn't afford to cover the whole thing in fur, so opted just for the shoulders?!

Zoe678 · 19/09/2013 19:29

it looks like one of those cute bug costumes people put their children in at hallowe'en. It just needs antennae and it would be a beetle costume.

scripsi · 19/09/2013 19:35

ha! at asda "elevate your knitwear" wtf!

notjustamummythankyou · 19/09/2013 19:35

If you had cold nips, those furry shoulder things would look like eyebrows.

Could catch on.

LRDMaguliYaPomochTebeSRaboti · 19/09/2013 19:37

Oh, I so want to put DH in the fur-shoulder jumper. It would make him look as if his beard magically continued for about a foot horizontally.

onlysettleforbutterflies · 19/09/2013 20:16

A woman at work had that jumper on the other day, I must admit I did do a double take when she walked past.

Kamchatka · 19/09/2013 20:21

Did you think "Why does that woman have two fannies on her shoulders?"
