Do they exist?!

Only if they're made of something waterproof. They're usually sheepskin and totally useless in wet weather, and that includes snow.

Ugg do a lot of different styles though, there might be a waterproof leather version or something by now.

Have a look at some catalogues like Freemans or Littlewoods etc. you might be able to get some on interest free account.

My DD (11 yo) gets the Kirkland shearling boots from Costco (they're about £28 but she grows so quick I'm not going to spend £150+ on boots for a year)

I got some waterproofer from Blacks, blasted them a few times....

She walked round Hyde Park in a blizzard a couple of year back. Bare feet in the boots.
Her feet stayed warm and dry.

Groundhog boots [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Groundhog-Womens-Lancaster-Trimmed-P960149002/dp/B004W6L8RW/ref=sr_1_19?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1379472655&sr=1-19&keywords=GROUNDHOG here], got some cheap years ago, off Amazon, very warm and more robust than your ordinary sheepskin boots though I would choose other footwear for splashing in puddles with the kids. I also have some lovely Mammal boots for the snow and www.grayandosbourn.co.uk/shop/gabor-cosmic-womens-leather-lace-up-boot/cc845/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=7221#colour:Brown,size:these I just bought. I think that is the same model as mine, they are lined with sheepskin on the inside so that they are very warm and comfy but they have a nice tough leather outside and they even look smart enough for work.

herecomesthsun · 18/09/2013 04:11

oops sorry, the top is sheepskin on the last ones, the inside is microfibre, but still soft and warm

I've ordered Bearpaw boots from here:

www.amazon.co.uk/tag/bearpaw%20boots/products

They are America's answer to Uggs, about half the price, and are getting great reviews. Like the above poster I plan on blasting mine with water-proofer stuff.

Mine are on their way so watch this space for a review once I try them! I went with the "Meadow" ones with a sturdier sole.

I bought the merrel taiga boots last winter to replace my uggs. I've got the black version www.gooutdoors.co.uk/merrell-taiga-buckle-wp-p215649 they were originally £150, but you can get them for under £80 if you shop around
