Who is going to watch "fab fashionistas" tonight on C4?

Thanks for reminding me - I certainly shall. I intend to spend hours in front of the mirror in my grande dame outfits into my nineties and beyond considers lifestyle ruefully

one of the ladies on this programme lives near me and I've seen her around for years - am very surprised it took her this long to be discovered!

They are all amazing aren't they!

EagleRay I'm wondering if it's the same woman, as I've always seen one of them around town and admired her style (and figure!)

Amazing women and the programme is far less fluffy and silly than I thought it would be (esp from the title). Very moving and inspiring really.

Very inspirational. I loved that these women showed that life not only goes on past 65 but can be a great time for change too. Their clothes were amazing. Very stylish indeed.

I really enjoyed this especially after watching 'how not to get old' last week in a similar time slot. Much more inspirational.

Thought they were amazing. The 87 year old - I had thought why have they got a middle aged woman on in very average clothes - my jaw dropped when I heard her age. Very emotional in places. Vogue agent said people reading their magazines want models to represent a dream but that would be my dream to be so stylish fit and resourceful in my 80s (or now for that matter ;) )

I love those women! So beautiful and feisty and full of life! It's so cool to think there is so much you can DO even into old age - no need for stagnating in front of the telly...and I thought that giraffes - vogue are mad! These women are way closer to my 'dream' image than anorexic 14 year olds Confused

I'm in Australia and viewed the gallery on Guardian online. Inspirational or what? I'm 58 and for looks think Vivienne Westwood in terms of mad wreck face and hair, if not clothes.

In my case so true about the face or ass conundrum. I only have to lose 6/7lbs for size 12 to look a hatchet-faced 10.

The bones will win it. Thanks, mum. :o

I loved the programme and felt inspired and humbled. It was nothing to do with fahshion really. For anyone who wants to further explore the topic of ageing with vigour, I really recommend googling Diana Athill, who has written beautifully on the topic in 'somewhere towards the end', and also have a look at 'the warmth of the heart prevents your body from rusting' by Marie de Hennezel. A look at some of the students of legendary callanetics teacher Callan Pinkney will astound you. There are women in her books in their 70s and 80s with bodies you would kill for at 20.

I thought it was an inspiring programme. Shame about the name, as other posters have said, it had v little to do with fashion. Amazing women.

Madmomma I've heard Diana Athill on Radio 4 and thought she was great - really loved listening to her being interviewed.

I have yet to make any lifestyle changes since I saw the programme, but having recently given birth (I'm 42) I hope I've got an excuse Smile
