Steve Madden Miidori boots! Please help me find sensible but gorgeous brown winter boots!

I have been looking for a sensible pair of boots for winter including a fair few weeks in snowy Canada! I have my heart set of brown knee high boots, flat with a small heel, lots of sole grip. I have fallen in love with Steve Maddens Miidori boots in brown but can't find them in the uk :(

I am throwing myself on the mercy of the experts! Can you help? I have soft focus visions of skinny jeans and sloppy jumpers with knee boots and knee high socks (Pinterest makes life so much more expensive)

Help me Style and beauty experts! My budget probably runs to around £160 ish!

I really like those ones tethers, but I think they might just stretch the budget a bit too much :( are duo boots good?

How about Timberland?

OPeaches · 17/09/2013 19:14

Oooh, I want those Steve Maddens!

OPeaches · 17/09/2013 19:19

I was on a budget and bought these. They're not leather but look great. I too have visions of wafting about in skinnies and over sized knits. In fact, yesterday I was wearing a short floral dress, black leggings, chunky cardigan, and my boots. IfI do say so myself, I looked fab. Grin

Duo boots are good if memory serves me well, but they are still expensive. Have a look in the outlet section to see if there's anything there?

cocolepew · 17/09/2013 19:58

LaRedoute have a lot of long boots with buckles, not exactly the same but some are similar.

There is a Steve Madden shop that has just opened in the Trafford Centre. I can't find a number for them though vivalifestyle.co.uk/your-new-excuse-to-buy-shoes-as-steve-madden-hits-trafford-centre/

Peachypossum · 17/09/2013 21:01

Thank you for all the great ideas! Ni will be hunting down contact for the shop! I'm south east so hopefully if they do have them they can deliver!

What do we think if the over knee ones? I can't decide if they fit in with my skinniest and chunky socks peeking over fluffy vision?

I need to try and pop a link on ..

There is a Steve Madden concession in the shoe/boot floor of house of Fraser on Oxford st. Not sure if they have the boots but worth a call/check.

they are leather and £79

springlenner · 17/09/2013 22:00

Rules - they're lovely, where are they from?

Rules · 17/09/2013 23:05

Clarks, Orinoco Jazz.

Peachypossum · 18/09/2013 06:29

There's a 20% discount for Clarke at the moment isn't there? Makes those incredibly good value.

I've had those Clarks boots for the past two years. So comfy and springy. I love them.

Peachypossum · 18/09/2013 08:11

Are they grippy and waterproof to a high level? What ever I choose has to be very weatherproof for Canada, and need to last a good few years of Botha country's weather (I wish more than a few weeks of Canada's though!)

I usually go with timberlands or cat boots, but my black knee highs are lace up and their only other pair I like have a big heel which I'm not sure I could cope with in Icey conditions even with grips!

OP posts:
Peachypossum · 18/09/2013 08:12

Ohh, and how high up your leg do they come Kosher?

OP posts:
KosherBacon · 18/09/2013 08:16

Peachypossum- I'm a 29" inside leg and they come up to my knee. They are great for Manchester rainy winters, but where in Canada are you, as I'm not sure how good they are for -40'c Winnipeg winters! Clarks have a Goretex similar pair that might be better.
