So I ordered this dress, but now it's here I'm really not sure about it. I don't know if it looks at bit frumpy as it's right on my knee. I would be ( hopefully if they arrive in time ) wearing with these www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/shoes/high-heel-pointed-heel-shoes-c269191p1406050.html
This is for a hen do at the Sanderson Hotel in London. Bit of a cool/funky/hip'n'happening place apparently. I am none of these so struggling!
Which, if any, of these outfits do you think would be best? And if none of them, what else can I try.

Definitely the drapey top combo - it really jumps out as stylish and suiting you. And I think you can show a bit of bra as long as it looks deliberate

You've got a lovely figure :)

Ifcatshadthumbs · 16/09/2013 20:33

Same as ouryve, definitely

bobkate · 16/09/2013 20:34

oh no - maybe the dress has a stay of execution!

kiriwawa what sort of bra would you say looks deliberate? I'm just as bad with my undies and haven't bought a new one for years.

I think the animal print dress looks too big for you tbh, the sleeves and top half look almost baggy.

Looking again I like the white sequined top, but I think it would look good for cocktails with slim, black cigarette trousers (slightly above the ankle), black heels and no jacket.

kiriwawa · 16/09/2013 20:52

I'd wear a lacy one - maybe navy to match the trousers? Not sure about the spotty one (although it's very cute!)

If you're not keen on flashing the bra, you could wear a flesh coloured t-shirt bra (M&S do 2 packs pretty cheaply)

bobkate · 16/09/2013 20:56

Lazy I did wonder if it was a bit big and I think I don't have the boobs to fill out the top half enough.
Can you link me to any good cigarette pants that I might be able to find in Bluewater tomorrow to try on? I'll take the tops with me so I can try on in the shops.
Thanks for pondering some more for me Smile

Thanks Kiri I'll have a look tomorrow and try on underneath when I'm there. I defo think no to the spotty one too.

I like the skinnies with the peachy coloured top. The dress and blazer look nice but maybe too worky - deffo NOT the leggings. Sorry, but I don't like those Zara shoes.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/09/2013 20:57

Cigarette pants - try Cos or The White Company.

bobkate · 16/09/2013 20:59

Lazy It certainly doesn't fit as well on me as it does on this Nordic beauty!!!! nelly.com/uk/womens-fashion/clothing/party-dresses/vila-479/chee-jersey-3-4-sleeve-480245-749/

Sorry bobkate just came back to this. I'm afraid I'm not the person to ask re where to get cigarette pants, my legs would look like chicken drumsticks in then so it's not a style I look out for in shops. I see Remus has given you a heads up though. Hope you get sorted.

Maybe you should have ordered that dress in the next size down? It looks like a mini dress on the model, obviously she's probably about 6ft1" in heels!

Judezx · 16/09/2013 22:52

I like the dress with the open blazer but not the shot where the blazer is closed. If you go for that option. I can't recommend Sally Hansen legs spray thingie enough. I get fake tan fail every time but the Sally Hansen stuff is so easy to apply and looks fabulous. Your legs will look flawless.

bobkate · 16/09/2013 23:00

No probs Lazy and thanks for coming back. They only had a medium in the dress so I went for it thinking it would probably come up small. I knew it would be longer on me than on the taller than tall model but didn't think it would be quite so long!! I think I'll be sending it back and save my pennies for something else.
I'm going to have a mooch about tomorrow and see what I can find.
Thanks again Smile
Judezx - thanks, that would have been the next question pre the wedding itself Smile Will get some tomorrow then I can have time for a trial run.

I love the zara shoes actually.

I kept thinking that your phone was a clutch and thinking what a cool and unexpected pop of colour it was with your outfit palette!

Agree with ourvye btw.

bobkate · 17/09/2013 08:14

Thanks Faddy - I'll see if I can find a funky clutch today then Smile
