I need something showerproof-ish for the school run.

Too Michelin Man?

I'm thinking of the dark brown one. Also any advice on their sizing would be good.

Thanks!

Saw it iRL at the weekend - puffiness not such an issue but it was much shinier than in that picture, which was a massive turn off. Also down is nightmare in the wet. It's for warmth.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 16/09/2013 14:28

It's vile imo

UriGeller · 16/09/2013 14:32

Maggoty.

I think it could look Ok in black but the other colours are very shiny. It's a shame as I bought a Uniqlo down coat last year in this shape and it it brilliant, really warm without being too puffy. Mine is more matt and an olive green colour. If you don't mind the shinyness, I can really recommend the coats!

BetsyBidwell · 16/09/2013 14:41

yup UNiqlo ones are always shiny.
i got a sport watching one from Lands end. I looked at Zara but they were filled with polyester not down

BetsyBidwell · 16/09/2013 14:42

its not shimmery at all in rl (mine was black)

Thanks - will rethink if it's going to be really shiny.

Still need something stylish, waterproof and under £100 if that's a possible combination...

I just got this from Lands End. £80 with the discount. Is it horrible? Can't decide. www.landsend.co.uk/Women's_Down_System_Commuter_Coat/pp/P_25083.html

I had one.

It was lovely.

I lost it, although I have no idea where!

DH said I looked like I was walking around wearing a sleeping bag. Hmm

John Rocha at Debenhams has one in 'taupe' and also navy, reduced to about £66. It doesn't look quite so bulky to me.
