Ok, if you were going to spend at least 12 hours, in a field, in the rain, in the highlands, what would you wear??

I'd wear my saling gear and look a complete twat

nailpolish · 22/06/2006 17:24

DONT wear jeans - fi they get wet they will never ever dry

tbh i dont think itll rain, it will be glorious sunshine

you could always wear jeans and take waterproof trousers (you can get fairly cheap ones from golf shops) and you just put them over the top, but you can get pretty sweaty

get a big fishing hat thing (waterproof with a big brim) instead of a brolly which would just piss you off no end

proper boots

even if its not raining you will probably be in mud

or get stylish wellies - even Asda sell them (boden if you are feeling flush)

a lightweight jacket

i bet the camping crew will be able to help

have fun!

saltire · 22/06/2006 17:26

I wouldn't be worrying about the rain! No, i'd be more concerned about the MIDGES!
All those people tramping round in afield disturbing them all!

Hope you have some of that Avon stuff that's good as a midge repellant

It only showers forecast, what about the midges!!!!!

nailpolish · 22/06/2006 17:31

i am imagining you with one of these things we had at school - it was a cagoule that turned into a bag

and one of these transparent grannie hood things - stylish but practical!

i was reading about rockness in the paper the other day - only one crappy B road and one pub for miles and miles! the local have special passes to go to the pub!

wonder what nessie will htink?

LotosEater · 22/06/2006 17:34

if you are going to wear a cagoule, wear waterproof over-trousers as well or you will be very wet from the thighs down

you will look v glam

that depends on your choice of smoke there aimsmum...

the midgies will be bad if there has been showers/damp conditions

early evening time

the vodka should haze them out a bit

just breathe on them

seb1 · 22/06/2006 17:40

Could you not nip to Braehead tonight there is a Tresspass shop there open till 9pm.

saltire · 22/06/2006 17:42

agree with nailpolish, if its damp/wet the midges will be bad, especially if there are loads of people tramping about!
Midges have spoiled many a good Scots BBQ!

seb1 · 22/06/2006 17:43

You'll need one of these at least midge eater
