Do you remember the thread about the bonkers spiral shoes? Well I finally went to try them on and....

They were called Mojito, they looked like this and I found them barking mad but strangely fascinating.

So I found myself near Schuh on Oxford St today sans DCs and suddenly remembered them. They had one in my size, so I slipped it on and ....... ..... they were great. Striking, flattering, stable and solid as a rock. BUT, because they're made of rigid (leather lined) composite they have not one nanometer of give in them, and my arches are too high to fit comfortably into the centre section Sad.

Just as well really because I've got a "dress to drop jaws" wedding to attend next month, and if they'd fitted I'd have been powerless to resist, which would have been bad because 155 quid is silly money for a gimmicky pair of shoes I'd only wear twice a year .

I went to a wedding where one guest was wearing them.

They looked kind of amazing.

She was in flipflops straight after the photos.

MrsMeow · 15/09/2013 19:43

I do like some Irregular Choice shoes, but sorry OP, those are horrendous! I've seen them in the flesh too, and they don't look much better. Like something Lady Gaga would wear!

DustyBinAteMyCat · 15/09/2013 19:45

Wow

I want to say to you, "Work these babies, bitch!" But you might take offence! Ha!

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 15/09/2013 19:53

No no, I don't need more bonkers shoes - stop trying to make me buy shoes - I have a perfectly acceptable pair of red heels I can wear to jawdroppingly wedding, and a nice Anglomania dress and no budget to buy more (although very nearly bought lovely silk Ted Baker dress for 15 quid in Help the Aged yesterday only to be stymied by the fact that the assistants didn't understand their stupid sizing and had mislabelled it - I couldn't get the bloody zip up Angry Sad).

Mind you I'm open to advice on best reasonably priced brand of control pants to help me fit into said Anglomania dress, which is slightly snug.

They look fab! What's the sizing like? (High arches aside?)

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 15/09/2013 20:06

Seemed fine to me - I tried on a size 39, which is my usual and it seemed bang on. But because of the total lack of give it would be a real gamble whether they actually fit you properly, you'd need to try them on and walk around for ages to be sure.

DustyBinAteMyCat · 15/09/2013 20:59

You are so right FreeButton but i would i think i like women who would wear these monstrosities rather than nude heels.

TheHandbagOfGlory · 15/09/2013 21:06

Wow

FreeButtonBee · 15/09/2013 21:08

Agree re nude heels, Dusty. Truly the white stilleto of the 2010s.
