It's too cold to wear sandals with my black maxi - what do I do?

I normally wear sandals - wedges/platforms or flats with it, but it is too cold now. And having crippled myself in heels last night, I need to find some footwear that I can wear (and walk around in) with my plain black fitted-ish jersey maxi-dress.

I fear I am too old for the vertiginous shoe-boots which seem to be abounding at the momentSad

Converse could work with a jersey dress.

Converse or ankle boots.

Yes, I was thinking Converse too! Just last night I had to look fairly smart.

What kind of ankle boots, Roger?

I wear converse on days off with mine. To work I wear ballet flats or flat mary jane types with opaque tights if it gets really cold (on my feet all day job). Night out in Autumn---not worn it for that, but probably cripple myself in heels like you! Why not platforms/wedge shoes rather than sandals!?

I like Converse with mine, but only with bare legs. I wear ankle boots in A/W, either with a small heel or Chelsea-esque.

Oh yes, Remus - Converse with tights on, eeeek!

Actually the shoes I had on last night were wedges, but 4" heel and more walking than I had thought...
